or they could trade down from #4, 5 or 6 spots and get McMillian plus maybe a 2nd & 3rd
Yeah, that's true. They could fill a lot of holes that way. I think if it's me, I take Mason Graham at 4 and give us the best DT we have had in a long, long time. If we cant get McMillan at 12, get the CB or pass rusher.
I also think on that deal offer you saw, the 2nd rounder would have to be this years second, not next years. That would be a deal breaker for me

i like that option and the 2nd round offered is for this year

That would make the deal look better. With two 2nds, they could still address WR and RB.
They would have to hit on all their picks to keep that trade from being a total disaster. We couldn't have any Mazi/Guyton action

just saw a trade rumor on Parsons where we send him to New England for 2025 1st (#4), 2026 1st, 2025 2nd (#38), 2027 3rd and 2025 #144
trades up & snags Carter, with a plethora of other draft picks.
I would do it.
but I wonder if this trade was real, if we would wait until NE is on the clock to make sure Carter is there.

I keep trying to talk myself into wanting Golden at #12, because he just seems like the kind of guy the team is going to pick.
I absolutely dont want a receiver at 12, but Jerry likes to fuck with me.
So if we did go WR Golden is the one I would look at as well. Didnt he have the fastest 40?

he shouldnt be (IMO) but if pick two or three goes QB, he might be.
True. I just dont get the logic of trading all that draft capital and also paying Micah if there is a very lifted edge rusher on the board. Even if Carter doesn't turn out to be Micah, that's a Hell of a lot of capital for the difference

but we would be on the right side of that capital (for once) so I would be happy.

Sorry, I might have confused my point. I would not like Golden at 12. I think the team may take him, which is why I'm trying to talk myself into liking it...but I just can't. Macmillan, I'm OK with there, the rest...I just can't be happy with any of them. But, I'll do what I did the last three years. Hope for the best and hope that they work out. Tyler did. Maybe the other two do eventually. Maybe WR at 12 does :noidea:

Just not enough for me personally for a generational superstar. Plus why would you lock up an aging QB and then turn around and trade your best player? It would be typical Dallas stupidity. Are you re-building or not? You don't do things half assed. That gets you 30 years of mediocrity. It's all about SBs. You either re-build or you don't. If they somehow were able to trade Dak and his salary then traded Micah (would need a little better deal than that though) I could see it. But not the way they have operated the last year plus.

Hearing that the Cowboys are really interested in making a trade or 2 on draft day.
Who knows. They cleared cap space and having done anything with it. The only big $ players they acquired in the past 10 years were both via trade (Cooks and Gilmore). It's been expected for a while. Before teh draft, during the draft, after the draft? My guess is it's in a couple months when things start to take shape and other teams are ready to move on from guys but the earlier the better. No day like Today!

I heard that Denver was looking to move up from 20 to 12. Offering Cortland Sutton to move up 8 spots

Sutton has little value to me because you need to pay him. I just can’t even consider that. If he signed last year and his signing bonus already cleared the cap that would be different, but I’d rather make the pick and sign Keenan Allen.
