it appears as of today our picks are:
1st round pick 12 overall
2nd round pick 44 overall
3rd round pick 76 overall
4th round no picks
5th round picks 149, 170 and 174 overall
6th round picks 204 and 211 overall
7th round picks 239 and 247 overall
257 Total Draft picks

it has been said this draft is rich with talent. Many 5th year guys who can step in year one if there is a scheme match from the college program to pro team. Still need a trade down partner. Seattle might have interest for 12. Seahawks also have 10 draft picks, but their 10 picks include two 2nd and two 3rd round, 4th and two 5 and 7 round picks
i think Houston could be looking to trade up so trading down with them could bring us #25, #58 and #89 our #12. if that happened i would consider:

25. Emeka Egbuka WR Ohio State we have CeeDee Lamb as our #1 receiver with no #2
44. TreVeyon Henderson RB Ohio State. we have Javonte Williams and ?
58. Darien Porter CB Iowa State. we have Bland and Diggs but Diggs can't stay on the field
76. Tyler Shough QB Louisville, we have Prescott
89. best available player appears to Savion Williams WR TCU

I think there is no possible way you're getting a 1, 2 and 3 for our 1 in a draft like this one. You might get a 2, I'm betting a high 3 would do it. There is no player that will be on the board at 12 that you can't get a comparable player at a comparable position at 25 in this draft

you are probably correct but it was one of the proposed trades shown on a couple of sites

Yeah, I see those too, and if we got that offer, I'm buying the first round for the board lol, because I think it would be party time. If we got a 2 and a 3, I would take that deal so fast it would make your head spin. I'm hoping you're right!

I see a lot of Cowboy fans on SM wanting the North Carolina RB with our 2nd pick. I feel like he goes in the top 20-25 picks. I think the change in the RB market and Detroit taking Gibbs so early and getting so much criticism but now laughing at everyone has people re-thinking the not taking the "#2" rated back early idea. I think he goes WAY earlier than all of the mocks think.

granted that trade offer was for a team a couple of slots below us but it more aligns with us and the value of #12

Wow. I guess I'll take my comment about going way earlier than the mocks back :pound:
He wouldn't be my choice at #12, but I wouldn't be shocked if we took him.

in fairness, both have been dinged.

I do think there is a decision to be made very soon on who to keep. I think they see it this way too. Extending Bland before the season starts would tip their hand. The coach has spoken about his vison of the team he wants to assemble...their love, attitude about this game and the team concept rang loudly at that introduction media conference. We'll see.

Positions I hope we dont consider in the 1st round.

QB (obvious reason)
Any Special team position (not a concern unless you are a raider fan)
TE (think my thoughts on this is well established)
& I hope we dont go WR in the this draft. Now I can see a scenario where we might do it, but no I am really hoping we dont do this.
Now I wont lose my shit like if we went TE, but if that generational guy fell to us for some reason, I guess I am gonna have to be alright with that. But short of that. Hope we stay away from WR in the 1st. Unless the guys 1st round grade is so much higher than the next guy we woulda took. All the stuff we need & all the guys that will still be available at 12. I hope we dont fall for that we need a #2 WR (with the 12th pick) Tons of quality WRs come out of College all the time & including non 1st rounders. WR is one of the easier spots to fix. Hell WR constantly get fixed by teams in FA as well.
So unless it is a glaring no brainer. I hope we dont chase WR at 12. & No I dont care if he was BPA by a small margin.

We need another weapon for Dak. That's why I was so interested in Warren. Of the WR's, Golden is my favorite, but i have concerns that any of the top WR's could bust. Warren ain't gonna bust, he will be a star.
That said, there are gobs of need guys that will be there. Simmons, Membou, Will Campbell and Banks would all start for us on the OL. Walker or Jihaad Campbell would start for us at LB. Johnson or Barron would start at corner. Jeanty or Hampton would start at RB. There are a few WR's that would start. 3-4 NT's that would upgrade over Mazi. Really be a great year to trade back, even if only for a high 3rd

I did listen to a guy tonight discuss an offense playing primarily the 12 set. Talked about downhill running the football and the best security for Dak in your guy. It is a compelling concept if I Dsllas was top 3 rushing the football.

One thing about me, I'm going to like most anyone they were to select at 12. This doesn't mean I think for one second I'm the better fan for saying this. I trust the guys actually in the arena knowing what is best for this team. More so this year than forever. Call it a pom poms or whatever, I think this is the head coach working with Will McClay buying the groceries. I'm pumped with the concepts I think Adams and Riley bring.

Stoked about our coaches as well.I remember Schotty as an OC(my wife's family lives in Seattle). He ran a ton of 12. I envision Warren here not only becoming our Gronk, but you change Ferguson from a top 15 TE to the best #2 TE in football. You also make it nearly impossible to put a defense out there we can't exploit. Dak is like an OC. If they are in base to stop the run, he calls a pass at the line, if they have extra DB's, we run over them with 7 blockers. The problem with taking Warren is the Jones approach to FA. They leave gaping holes that are bigger needs. I'm ignoring that. I'm not letting their idiotic team building stop me from taking the best available player I'm my draft lol
