I think they are doing a far better job in free agency since last. Although, I don't think they could have been worse. They are addressing needs and taking chances on young players. Let's hope it works.

Rico gone for 6.5 to Carolina. Looks like we will be drafting an RB.

:hope:

We don’t even need all of them to work out. If one of these guys is a decent starter and 2 more play a role it would help. I’m not sure that is going to happen but let’s hope. I wonder if the money we spent on all of these guys is more than lets say Greenlaw and Poona Ford combined signed for per year. I know which I think would help us more.

Hampton and Henderson will be nearly as good IMO. They have really separated themselves from the next tier IMO
I agree
I never understood why they had Henderson ranked lower early on. Hampton reminds me of Demarco Murray. Henderson also looks like a lead back

If Jeanty is gone and all the good lineman are gone, maybe they trade down a bit and snag one of these two. I like how Hampton plays in the pass game. He gets yards. Henderson got some speed.

These moves so far make me think lineman or RB early and often. Maybe they not so dumb and seeing the value. It like load up on defensive tackles,OL, RB and sprinkle in a corner. Mazi stinks. They got to upgrade . These dumb fucks need to get it through their pin heads that you got to stop the damn run!! Mazi not getting it done. That new guard from Miami bullied Mazi. You put a guy like Grant in there you got a better chance of stopping the run and forcing 3rd and long.

Henderson gets an inch, he takes it to the house. We have missed that for a while.
We have filled out the roster, but we could still use a serious upgrade almost everywhere.

QB, obviously Dak, probably Rush back as QB2.
RB, we desperately need a stud
WR, We need a legit #2
TE we are average at best
OT, Project at LT
OG need a power player for RG
C GOOD lol
DE Need another pass rusher
DT need an upgrade at NT and another 3T
LB Need a run stuffer. Cowboys think they are set
CB need 2 that can play
S need a backup at both spots

this is a stupid post buddy.
I've made my position clear. You have enough debbies screaming from the hilltops after 3 days of FA.

Go Pokes
I don't see it as Debbie's. I think when the Cowboys cleared $54M in cap space, many hoped they might actually try to improve the team. We came into the offseason with Philly as world champions and Washington in the NFCCG. Washington has added 3 big time starters. We have added one marginal one. I've got 5 months to talk myself into us winning the East. I'm wallowing in reality for now. I'll be Susie Sunshine by week 1

Didn't you all that stuff they did the past two days? It like everything on your list got fixed. Lol. It just feels like April 1st to me.

You know, I would LOVE the moves they have made....if there were 4-5 legit moves still coming. It's ok to give the club credit for paying Osa and Turpin, that's great, but those moves aren't improving the team from last season. They also let JLewis, DLaw, Golston, Dowdle, Cooks and Kendricks walk. Seems like fantasy to think we will be better

I know...it's everywhere and you have plenty of company.

I'll stand in the shorter line.

continue when required.
I will say, I admire that you can stay positive. I would like to myself. I'm just fed up with Ownership and there's not a thing to be done about it

well to play chess in this cap era. you got to think beyond just the next year when signing contracts.
I am ok with losing all these guys, when all things weighed out. looking at most likely 4 year+ contracts for anyone not long in the tooth. Which equates no matter what to dead money down the road, most likely as we get significant (with any luck)
Lewis is good when compared to our guys. but he reminds me of when we let our top CB walk & dolphins signed him to the largest contract at the time. He played well for the dolphins but wasnt worth that contract. I feel we would have fell into a similar trap if we didnt have discipline to let him go. (Jerry loves signing our own) DLaw while worthy of keeping is long in the tooth & really to me the perfect time to let him go. To me there is more risk than reward on him. Dowdle isnt special by no means. More than happy to get a cheap rookie contract to play as a #2 or RBBC player than resigning Dowdle. & No if Dowdle were to stay dont think he would have agreed to a one year deal to stay here. So he was leaving regardless. Cooks. Long in the tooth & should be easily replaced for cheaper at this stage in his career. if we fail at this, is because we picked his replacement wrong, but the decision to let him go is still sound.
Losing all these guys this year make us better this year. maybe not, remains to be seen. But will help us year two & three (so on) by not dealing with contracts for all of these guys that are/were replaceable now. I predicted when Zimmer left that Kendricks was gone. Again no surprise to me with a new coaching staff. So obviously we werent gonna attempt to resign him.

I'll get excited (or upset) after the draft & adjust my hope meters after that.
but right now. I am not upset with our losses. in fact some of them I wanted to go away instead of overpaying.

I don't disagree that the guys leaving won't kill us. The problem is have is we aren't doing everything we can to IMPROVE the team. We haven't paid any outside FA as much as a $6M a year in 13 years. The moves they are making are fine to tread water, but that's it.

Here is the problem with what you are saying because on it's surface most of what you are saying I agree with. We need better players, much better players. We were shitty last year and it had nothing to do with injuries. Every team has them every year. We were 3-5 in games Dak started and 4-5 in games he didn't. It wasn't Dak's injury. Micah killed us when he was hurt but he played in 13 games and the reason it hurt so bad when he was out was because our roster stunk and we were left with no one to rush the passer. On the guys you said won't hurt us being gone I agree and disagree. None of the guys we lost are a big deal and you can make the case we shouldn't have resigned most or even all of them. But that isn't the point. The point is our roster stunk last year and at each of those positions listed we are currently worse this year than we were last year. So we let them go, but we replaced them with guys who are worse.

Some fans look at a signing and the position and think "oh good we signed a DL or a LBer" but they have absolutely zero clue about the actual player. I want someone to tell me that one of these signings/trades was good because of how well the player played. Not because we need the position, not because he was a first round draft pick, not because the coach knows him or some other vague reason. Tell me based on their play last year why we should be happy about any one of these guys being a 17 game starter. Murray will start by default but he isn't very good and has a $7.4M cap hit this year. I bet that is lower than Greenlaw's. There were some really good LBers available. We were 7-10 last year and we got worse. Yes we should improve due to the draft but so should every other team. If we are tanking the season I'm all for it to get better down the road but then that makes two years of tanking into a $60M per year QB contract. So again, the roster building is ridiculous. Is this team winning a SB? Or has Dallas simply become the franchise that sets it's goals at making the playoffs and getting embarrassed in week one or two and sent home telling us how they'll do better next year

And on Murray. I do think he makes us a better than without him. I don't question that. What bothers me about this particular move is his cap hit isn't cheap and there were much, much better players out there. I am glad he is on the team for sure because we had no one else and he will start unless we bring someone else in. Really I am glad all of the guys we acquired are on the team. I don't dislike any of the moves. My point is they don't move the needle. If we had one big free agent signing and all of these other moves I would be very happy. But we haven't done that.
