but will his last name start with a J?I think a real good player could be there at 12.

If the Boise back is there, You take him. IMO. Don't pass on a generational talent. When we have a stud RB, We win. Rico and him would be fantastic. Now I hope Dallas does not draft RB in the first round. Round one clearly smells reactionary to fans for not signing Henry.
Iowa has a stud, NC too, and then there are the two Ohio State backs and ofcourse there is Scattabo sitting there.
I understand your position should the back truly be generational talent. If the Boise back is there, You take him. IMO. Don't pass on a generational talent. When we have a stud RB, We win. Rico and him would be fantastic.
The best argument for passing Jeanty in round 1 is that you end up with a better combo of players from round 1 and 2 combined. You could take either the Egbuka kid as a legit #2 WR, a DT like Mason Graham or an OL like Banks or Simmons in round 1 and still end up with a bell cow back im Hampton from UNC or Kaleb Johnson from Iowa in round 2. If you do take Jeanty in round one, the drop off at DT isn't that bad as it is real deep, but the OL and WR drop is substantialI understand your position should the back truly be generational talent.
I saw this kid win a state championship in HS. I'm not convinced he is all that. He has been a stud everywhere he's played with a boat load of mileage on those wheels. The Dallas oline looks pretty darn good. The center is a keeper, Holfman blew me away. Tyler Smith is going to cost a shit load soon. What's not to like? The line has several guys who have shown well when given a shot to play. Guyton is looking more and more RT to me.
well drafting 12.
I say maybe another top oline guy.
Maybe...another Michigan DT
Maybe...a great #2 WR prospect to blend with a pretty good receiving room next year.
Hell, Put me down for safety in round one over RB.
watch film of the Iowa back, the NC back, the AZ back and both Ohio State backs and tell me top 12 RB makes the most sense for this team.
shoot, if Cooper had played, we mighty beaten the Skins by plus 10 points.
I know Cooper hits Rico for that late TD.
more to see...but my thinking about round one back is heck no, not me now.
Good options as well. I think it will be hard to screw up this pick.I understand your position should the back truly be generational talent.

i expect that some team will trade up over the Cowboys for Jeanty. if that occurs i would think about trading down from #12 for something in the area of 15 or 16 with an additional 3rd round pickThe best argument for passing Jeanty in round 1 is that you end up with a better combo of players from round 1 and 2 combined. Could be the smart thing to do. I like the Boise State back, but after Zeke the FO may be a little hesitant to burn a top 15 pick on him. Jeanty had a ton of carries this year so who knows how long his shelf life going to be.. he could flame out like Zeke did. His running style is totally different than Zekes though so he may play at a high level for several yearsNow I hope Dallas does not draft RB in the first round. Round one clearly smells reactionary to fans for not signing Henry.

They been using a lot of 1st round picks on OL though. I think they need to focus elsewhere and take a look at Richards becoming a starter at LT. I think he can do itThe best argument for passing Jeanty in round 1 is that you end up with a better combo of players from round 1 and 2 combined. I'm really leaning for Grant TBH if I had to pick between the two. Grant is a great prospect. Massive and clearly understands how to use those long arms to either gain leverage or bat down a throw. He also creates a lot of pressure as a pass rusher. He brings it. Yeah he is from Michigan but I don't care
I bet you are right. These are the guys I know.Tennessee had a great RB as well. Maybe a little small but very fast. SEC offensive player of the Yr.
More than top 10. It would be a surprise if they didn’t go 1 and 2.Top 15 players per PFF
1 Travis Hunter WR/CB Colorado
2 Tetairoa McMillan WR Arizona
3 Mason Graham DT Michigan
4 Ashton Jeanty RB Boise State
5 Adbul Carter LB Penn State
6 Will Johnson CB Michigan
7 Malaki Starks S Georgia
8 Will Campbell OT LSU
9 Luther Burden WR Missouri
10 Nic Scourton DE Texas AM
11 Kelvin Banks Jr G/T Texas
12 Jalon Walker LB Georgia
13 Josh Simmons OT OSU
14 Emeka Egbuka WR OSU
15 Aireontae Ersery OT Minnesota
Cam Ward QB Miami is 19. Sheduer Sanders QB Colorado is 41. Many mocks have them going top 10
5 guys I like that aren't in that group
Jahdae Barron CB Texas
Tyler Warren TE Penn State
Shavon Revel CB ECU
Josh Simmon OSU
Jalan Walker LB Georgia
Obviously that'll move around a lot between now and the combine, but we are in a good spot, especially if QB's start to go
Overshown is out for most or all of next season ans Micah plays a lot of DE. Campbell would workA CBS mock draft had the Cowboys taking LB Jihaad Campbell which I thought was weird since y'all have Micah.
Ashton Jeanty would be my selection at #12. Jeanty and Dowdle who came on strong this season would be a nice 1-2 punch and insurance in case one of them gets hurt.
