I think the West is wide open this year, Roughriders might be the favorite to win the division, but the Stamps bringing VA on board instantly puts them in the mix for the playoffs.

Did the Lions lose their 1st round pick for being over the cap from last year?

a full training camp with Rourke should do wonders. I hope he can return to form on his first stint

Regarding the Lions losing their 1st round pick for being over the cap, yes that's a possibility and it could end up with the Stamps.

It's official, the Lions went over the cap by 350,000 dollars and their 1st and 2nd round picks have been awarded to Calgary.

holy crap that is some kind of punishment.

sooooo

The Lions acquire Calgary’s 2025 round two selection (9th overall), 2025 round four selection (29th overall) and their round two selection in the 2026 CFL Draft. As part of the deal, Calgary received Vernon Adams Jr, a 2025 fourth selection (32nd overall) and round three selection in 2026 and a 1st and 2nd round pick in the upcoming CFL draft

:)

Call me crazy, but that appears to be a pretty nice trade for the Stamps :D

Hey @sbb122 and @thedddd, I thought you might be interested in this article lol

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have had communication with veteran Canadian NFL receiver Chase Claypool, general manager Jeremy O’Day told 3DownNation at the CFL Combine.

The 26-year-old has been a free agent since August 15 last year when he was released by the Buffalo Bills with an injury settlement. The Riders own Claypool’s CFL rights as he’s on the team’s negotiation list, a spot he’s held since April 2, 2024.

O’Day said a team staff member reached out and spoke with Claypool directly, who appeared receptive to the conversation. It remains unclear whether the six-foot-four, 238-pound pass catcher would consider coming up to the CFL.

He can continue his career of flopping around on every contested ball.

Is it really that bad in Saskatchewan that they're asking former NFL players to be water boys?!?

lol - Top receivers are making around 300K in the CFL these days, but Chase already got the bag so he probably doesn't care all that much about the money.

This sounds like a pretty good hire to me...

The Canadian Football League has appointed Stewart Johnston as its 15th commissioner.

The Toronto native, who was raised primarily in Ottawa, has spent his entire professional career in television. He joined TSN as an intern in 1997 and, by 2006, became its vice president of programming. Johnston became TSN’s president in 2010, a role he held until being hired by the CFL.

“I am deeply humbled and profoundly honoured by this incredible opportunity,” Johnston said in a statement.

“Long before I worked with TSN and RDS to broadcast the CFL, I was a fan. Growing up, I sat with family and friends, watching the legends of the game. I’ve loved working closely with this league, getting to know its stars and being a part of the most unforgettable celebration in Canadian sports — Grey Cup Week. To think that I will present that iconic trophy to this year’s winners in Winnipeg this November is a dream come true.”
