Patriots swap 34, 68 for SF's 63,94 and Deebo is a rumor coming out of WEEI.

Why would SF want to trade Deebo? The guy is a beast. Are they having cap issues?

That trade makes no sense to me from the SF side of it.

Basically it's 34 for 94 and Deebo. Did Deebo die or something? That seems too good to be accurate.

Exactly. When Deebo isn't in the game for San Fran their production falls off significantly.

I'd take that trade in a heartbeat unless there's some weird contract dispute on the horizon.

I might kick in Maybe to sweeten the deal.

Patriots selected Washington WR Ja’Lynn Polk with the No. 37 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
After taking Drake Maye with the third-overall pick Thursday, the Patriots give him what could be his top target for the 2024 season and beyond. Polk (6’1/203) was rumored to have elevated his stock throughout the pre-draft process. The Washington wideout ran a 4.52 at the combine but impressed in both the vertical and broad jumps. Polk totaled 110 receptions for 1,853 yards and 15 touchdowns over his last two seasons, playing opposite Rome Odunze along with Jalen McMillan while catching passes from Michael Penix. While he doesn’t possess the speed and burst we’d like to see, Polk made a name for himself hauling in contested targets, and has a contested catch rate of 51 percent over his college career. With ample experience out wide and in the slot, Polk will bring plenty of versatility to the New England offense once he gets acclimated. There isn’t much challenging his ascent up those ranks

Can you believe NE actually went with positiions most of us wanted? First time in decades. I wanted Mitchell and Rosegartner but oh well. Hope I was wrong.

What are people's thoughts for NE in round 4 tomorrow? They have the 3rd and 10th picks but no 5th round pick.

I like CB, TJ Tampa from Iowa if NE doesn't have a plan to go after someone like Gilmore. He was projected to be a mid 2nd rounder. Could be a steal? Not sure why he dropped so far?

WR, Brenden Rice, USC. He's 6' 2", 210# catches the ball well and had never fumbled in college.

I also like the RB from Tennesse. Jaylen Wright. Powerful, fast can make guys miss. A threat to go all the way and he's a 3 down back. Just not sure if I'd use one of our 4th round picks when we have no 5th and other holes to fill.

Round 3 #68

Patriots select OT Caeden Wallace Penn St.

He's a RT and plays it extremely well.

Don't be surprised if they pick up Christian Jones who has p0layed both RT and LT for Texas.

This round may be where they might pick up a DB if TJ Tampa is available.

From what I heard......SF is trying to sign Aiyuk long term. Samual is two years older (28) and the 49ers are on the hook for something like $54M in 2024 and 2025. Trading him will give them cap breathing room and some money to roll over to 2025.

Sometimes it more about the money than the player.

Of course once the 49ers and Patriots started talking, the Bills jumped in with both feet. Once a third team gets involved, nothing seem to get done.

Patriots selected Penn State OT Caedan Wallace with the No. 68 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
This same time last year, Wallace (6'5/314) was considered one of the top 10 tackles in the 2024 draft class. While his 2023 season was a letdown compared to the buzz he was generating in an injury-shortened 2022 season, he quietly played himself into all-conference honors. Wallace’s calling card is his heavy boxer hands that stunt rush progress and redirect defenders at will. This is especially helpful when diagnosing and addressing stunts and games from defensive lines. The issues for Wallace arise when he gets out of control. This often happens against speed rushers when he loses control of his momentum on a vertical set. Wallace handles power rushers with his heavy hands and is able to knock away a defender’s hands when he attempts to convert speed to power. He is probably not the best option to lead the charge on a run play, though he has shown a mean streak propensity that needs to be curbed to avoid penalties. He has a good understanding of the angles that he is assigned in creating, but needs to have the awareness to see how he can contribute beyond the man in front of him. Although every single college snap came at RT, Wallace may fit best on the interior to avoid such drastic vertical sets and instead utilize his ability to pass off defenders.

Hearing some buzz you guys might be interested in trading for Deebo. Depending on the cost.....that could be a decent good pickup.
