So … some talking heads have the Pats vying for 1st overall pick in 2025? Sounds a bit exaggerated. Buckle down with an already good defense and a better-than-last-year offense (not hard to do), limit mistakes and turnovers, and they could pull off 8-9 wins, IMO.

They could but it's based on a lot of things, new HC, new coordinators, lot's of rookies and players stressing about taxes.

Unless I missed it, it doesn't define where these QBs were taken. Again Maye was taken at #3 and while I am not saying he should be QB that is the expectation from the media

Brandon Aiyuk did not report to 49ers and its no secret he wants a big contract - BIG!
He starts incurring fines tomorrow. Reporters are naming WR needy teams.
He would be a #1 but very expensive. (thanks Jefferson)

Trade value is 2 early draft picks and he would need $20 million+ in pay??????

That wasn't my point. I wasn't debating, agreeing or disagreeing. And I don't mean that in a confrontational way.

I just thought it was interesting enough to share. I had no point except to share. Some of those listed were virtual no names, others were fairly high early picks
Others still were later round picks that did make a name for themselves. Someone else can do the research for where each were drafted.

Again this is asinine. We have not completed OTAs, Pre Season Practice or games and until we hear it from Mayo and not the media it should still be considered open

Well, that's pretty much what I read.

"Jacoby, again, is our starter," Van Pelt told reporters. "He's playing excellent football for us in the spring. And Drake is coming on. Until that changes, we're gonna stick with what we've got."

Van Pelt noted that there's "no timetable" for the team to switch to Maye, whom it selected with the No. 3 pick in April's NFL Draft.

1) Jacoby was sign to be the starter, at least until something better comes along cuz Jones was GOOONE. He's playing excellent football for us in the spring
2) Drake was drafted to (hopefully) be the future. Until that changes, no timetable
3) Van Pelt want's no part of a media fueled QB controversy even if they keep throwing kindling on that fire, he's just stomping it out.
4) His comments leave room for him to make a change on the depth chart at any time.

The Patriots are not expected to go deep in the playoffs, so he can switch to Drake preseason, 1st week, after the bye, whenever. We all know it's going to happen, we just don't know when.

Power Rankings in June are nothing more than someone's opinion based on nothing more than the previous year's performance.

My guess is that this will be completely changed by Week 5.
