Would have loved Stamkos and to a lesser extent Marchessault, whiffed on upgrading our top 6. I guess locking up defense is higher priority, wingers are always available via trade.

Looked up Tanev’s buyout, if the Leafs bought him out in 2027 it would be six years of $1.5 mil cap hits. If they can even get two good years out of him it’s whatever. Can live with it.

They still need two more RD’s and one needs to be top 4 calibre. And the goalie fix with Stolarz doesn’t really do much either. And there’s no additional scoring. Or a 3C.
