I'm in the minority here but I just don't think Bouchard is that good. He's nice on the PP but I don't notice him doing much 5-on-5 other than giving the puck to 97 and 29. And I don't care what the talking heads say, I think he's still subpar defensively. He's gonna get paid though.

Not sure he is that good either but making the Oilers pay for him is worth it.

I knew GM Holland, GM Yzerman. You're no GM Holland.

Took me a week to return and clarify my stupidity and mixing apples and oranges. Surprised I didn't get roasted. Holland was wonderful without a salary cap and Sr Illitch pretty much gave him an open checkbook. Enter poor Stevie and he inherits the mess that Holland left the last few years he was in Detroit, Jr Illitch will never likely spend like Sr did, even if he could. The high draft year chances where the Wings weren't even offered lube, and Yzermans hands tied like Hollands weren't earlier on. Just voicing frustration. I'm not getting any younger I'd like to see the Wings at least get back to the playoffs, hell maybe even win a series.
Then I think about the Laffs and Lions and the 20 some odd year run the Wings had. Rest assured I'm very grateful for that, and feel badly for some of you other folks out there. I know it hurts. Carry on, see y'all in Sept or Oct, God willing.

That is an amazing deal for him. I know the injuries, but I would rather have Boqvist at that deal vs the wrong Sebastian Aho.

Speaking of free agent defensemen still available, Oliver Kylington has yet to sign a contract and I think his representation overshot the mark. Not sure if he will get a contract now and might have to settle for a PTO.
