I hear ya....but I'd be willing to bet at least one QB in this draft turns out to be better than both Nix and Penix.

I guess we shall see. Both Penix and Nix fell into really good situations. This is why I would worry about the future of a guy like Ward going to Tennessee. They are missing a ton of pieces to really maximize him.

In terms of Membou, his size should keep him off a bust-proof list. He has the tape for sure. He has traits. He might be a guard. That said, Will Campbell would be in the 1% for OT wingspan. Campbell is equally high risk-high reward imo but he does have more tape than most players.

This draft is a minefield. I wouldn't let anyone tell you different. Try and throw as many darts as you can.

Personally, I think Colston Loveland actually has a higher floor than Tyler Warren and is a bit safer because you can point to his separation and route running as obvious perks. Warren has the higher upside. He could be a 'do everything' TE but he didn't really do a ton of great blocking in college IIRC so its a bit of a projection.

I actually think the Ohio State skill player that is 'bust proof' is Treyveon Henderson and not Egbuka. Henderson is known as a willing pass blocker and he has obvious speed. Should be easy for him to get play time although likely never a bellcow.
I think you hit the nail on the head on Campbell. I could absolutely see him busting. The MINIMUM arm length scouts look for in tackles is 34". Campbell was 32 and 5/8's at the combine. He maybhave to move to guard, which would make a top 10 pick a reach.
Warren and Loveland are studs, I think Warren hits that high ceiling.
Henderson may be the best back in the draft when all is said and done

I hear ya and not even trying to rip either of those guys. Hell, if one is better a decent chance it wont be Ward. But, sure, also possible neither amounts to much. Players have had better seasons than those 2 (Penix for sure) and then fallen back to Earth.

Wish the best to both, though.

I'd be willing to bet someone will be....just need to pick the right one if trading up.
I think the Saints may trade up with either the Browns or G-Men to ensure they get Shedeur. The Saints just almost have to draft a QB. I’m curious about the Steelers because if Rodgers isn’t signing with them they will probably draft a QB as well

saw a list yesterday:
10 bust-proof draft prospects.
Travis Hunter
Abdul Carter
Ashton Jeanty
Tyler Warren
Will Campbell
Jihaad Campbell
Will Johnson
Emeka Egbuka
Tyler Booker
Derrick Harmon

coin flip I guess but thought it was interesting the Mizou OT wasn't listed. Might be more game film than combo results. No Mason Graham was a shock.
admittedly surprised to see Egbuka on this list. do think he'll be pretty good but wouldn't have thought bust proof.

Henderson might be......but I woudn't call a guy a bust if injuries derail him.

Kind of makes sense if you assume Ward goes #1 and then there are two prospects head and shoulders above everyone else. Toughest pick to guess in the draft may be NE. They are probably sitting there praying someone takes Sanders ahead of them and makes it an easy stroll up to the podium for them.

These stories are such non stories.

Likely teams are fielding calls for all their picks. Not like they have minute restrictions on their phone plans or no time to talk.

Never rule out anything but would be surprised to see Browns drop down to 9.

Or the Browns and the Giants could just be putting it out there so that if another team is interested, they can pretend they are in a bidding war to push up the return

IF we are just talking rookie season then the answer is no for at least Nix of someone having a better rookie season than him and then crashing back to earth. The only 2 QB's with more total TD's than Nix are Cam Newton (won MVP) and Justin Herbert (top-7 QB in football right now). Of the QB's in the top-10 for total TD's only 2 could be considered busts later in RGIII (injury really derailed his career) and Jameis Winston. Heck Nix is top-10 in Completion percentage and yards thrown by a rookie. So again I don't think you can make the argument that QB's that did better than him as a rookie busted.

Yeah something tells me real FOs don't really fall for this....they know not to really believe anything they hear.

OK....but you kind of just named 2. Baker also had a pretty good rookie season and looked like he could be a bust (or at least not top pick worthy) before figuring things out again a few years later.

Slightly off topic.
Does the NFL Draft get more viewers than the 3 NBA games on Thursday?
an interesting question and shows how much more fans love them some football, Guessing draft is higher. Fans would rather watch NFL pick players than an NBA playoff game.

Not just an NBA thing as even though not H2H like this guessing draft gets better ratings than a WS game.

I think a WS game get better ratings than the NFL draft especially if a big name team is in it.
