brother.
You asked what we thought.
My instant reaction was to boo this man.
No offense.
like my mom used to tell me when I was younger. If you dont want to hear the answer. Dont ask the question :heh:
No problem, I just wanted an explanation of the booing, which you provided, appreciate it. Do you have someone you would like the Cowboys to take at 12?

the obvious choice would be Jeanty. but in your mock he would be gone.
I want the baddest DT in the draft personally. I would suspect if we did something right. It would be a guy in the trenches (one side or the other) but you could be right. Jerry likes his "bling" positions. but so you know. I would boo that man too!

Yeah if Jeanty’s there I think the Cowboys take him without hesitation, but I strongly think the Raiders get him. From what I understand this is a pretty good class for the D-Line, I think Mason Graham going to the Jags at 5 is as close to a lock as you can get in this draft - the Jags badly need help on the interior D-Line - if Graham somehow doesn’t wind up there then he might wind up in Dallas, and there are a few other D-Linemen who will likely go first round and I could see you guys possibly going there. Who knows though, it’s fun to speculate.
As for my Falcons, I think it’s a good bet we take an edge rusher, just not sure who though, we badly need a boost there, but I guess a DB is a possibility as well.

I think even if Jeanty was falling to us. Someone would trade up & snag him ahead of us.

You know which team only has one QB on their roster right now, and it would be a homecoming of sort for his college days. :L

While Dak would be a natural culture fit in Cleveland at this point in his career, this is just a silly rumor and the cap makes it all but impossible for Dallas as well as Cleveland.

I think you guys go CB before safety... I would be very surprised if they take Starks. Or you guys grab another OL (which you could use). I guess for LBer Campbell/Walker would be okay if they are there at your pick, but I don't think they will be.

I think first round is likely BPA. CB and S can be addressed 3rd round or later, as they aren't likely to be immediate starters. Rams play a lot of zone or at least off-ball coverage, so the early press corners aren't necessarily targets.

I’ll go ahead and post a mock draft now, I may post another as we get closer to draft day, here we go

1 Titans - Cam Ward, QB, Miami
2 Browns - Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
3 Giants - Travis Hunter, WR/CB Colorado
4 Pats - Abdul Carter, Edge, Penn St
5 Jags - Mason Graham, D-Line, Michigan
6 Raiders - Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise St
7 Jets - Armand Membou, O-Line, Missouri
8 Panthers - Jalon Walker, Egde/LB, Georgia
9 Saints - Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
10 Bears - Will Campbell, O-Line, LSU
11 Niners - Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M
12 Cowboys - Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
13 Dolphins - Kelvin Banks, O-Line, Texas
14 Colts - Tyler Warren, TE, Penn St
15 Falcons - Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
16 Cards - Kenneth Grant, D-Line, Michigan
17 Bengals - Jahdae Barron, DB, Texas
18 Seahawks - Tyler Booker, O-Line, Alabama
19 Bucs - Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
20 Broncos - Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
21 Steelers - Derrick Harmon, D-Line, Oregon
22 Chargers - Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
23 Packers - Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina
24 Vikings - Nick Emmanwori, DB, South Carolina
25 Texans - Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
26 Rams - Grey Zabel, O-Line, North Dakota St
27 Ravens - Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
28 Lions - James Pearce, Edge, Tennessee
29 Commanders - Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
30 Bills - Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky
31 Chiefs - Walter Nolan, D-Line, Ole Miss
32 Eagles - Josh Simmons, O-Line, Ohio St

So there it is, what does everyone think?

Zabel not a need for the Rams, don't see that one at all. Their main need for OL is a swing tackle/replacement for an aging Havenstein. Not a 1st round target IMO, and Zabel is unlikely to stick at T.

Cleveland likely just calling around to gauge trade availability of QBs. Seems like they don't want to go QB in the 1st if they don't have to.

I don't know that I would want to spend extra draft capital to trade up for Ward, and the others aren't even necessarily 1st round grades, let alone worthy of #2. Why not Carson Wentz? Chiefs didn't keep him, so he's out there.

Only two teams could see doing that would be the Broncos or Steelers.

I think more teams will consider him in the first than most might expect. Pats, Jags, Raiders, Panthers, Saints, and Bears (even the Niners) could all be interested, either due to lackluster or aging options in place. That's just of the teams picking before the Cowboys, not mentioning teams that could trade up. Now, some of those teams have glaring bigger needs (Pats and Niners in the trenches for example), but not all needs to be filled in the 1st round if they have the option of drafting a top level talent like Jeanty.

Forgot about the Bears, they could definitely be interested in Jeanty. No way are the Panthers interested, they have Hubbard and Dowdle, Jets have Hall and Allen, Saints have too many other holes on the roster to take Jeanty in the first, same with the Pats IMO, and while CMC is aging I’m pretty sure the Niners will go D as well. Jags maybe but they need more help on D than on O. I’m pretty sure Jeanty winds up in Vegas.

Hubbard and $3M Dowdle are enough to not want Jeanty? Maybe. I didn't include the Jets as they have a lot of options already.

Teams that need OT aren't going to find a lot of good options in this year's draft. There are a few options in the first, but many are projected inside including what seemed to be the top rated option Will Campbell, who has an outlier arm length issue. DT is very deep in day 1 and 2 prospects. While RB is deep, there is at least a tier gap from top RB to the 2nd, and probably another tier gap from 2-3.

It will be interesting to see how many players get moved up by needs over value.

Sorry I misread Jags as Jets initially. Both Hubbard and Dowdle ran for over 1000 yards last season, so RB isn’t nearly as big of an issue for the Panthers as each defensive area, they need a big boost on D.

I get that, but having a Corolla and a Kia in your driveway doesn't mean you turn down a rookie scale cost-controlled Ferrari.

Beyond Carter and Hunter who aren't making it out of the top 4, who in this first round stands out to you defensively? Maybe Mason Graham? Will Johnson still isn't healthy and skipped the Michigan pro day.

I'm not saying these teams don't have bigger needs; they do. However, opportunity cost of passing on Jeanty? I think he's probably top 3 in this class overall without the QB inflation. RBs typically get devalued in the draft, but not the elite ones so much.

I think Mason Graham goes to the Jags at 5, they really need a boost on their interior D-Line.
I just don’t see the Panthers going with Jeanty if he’s available given how much their D needs help at each level. I could see the Bears taking him though if he doesn’t end up with the Raiders. Raiders, Bears, Cowboys, Broncos and Steelers are the main teams I could see taking a RB in the first round.
It’s always hard to guess who will become a standout player at this point - this class seems pretty deep with edge rushers and D-Line, I hope my Falcons get a good one at 15, I think Jalon Walker would be good for the Falcons with his versatility, but I bet he’s gone then. But this is a deep class of edge rushers. One guy I don’t get the love for is Shemar Stewart though, he didn’t produce nearly enough in college to be a 1st round pick, seems like people love his potential and athleticism but it didn’t translate into results in college - sort of reminds me of a defensive version of Anthony Richardson, a guy who never did much in college but was drafted high based on his skills and potential, and we know how that’s turned out.
