Maybe it's a salary dump but surely they could have done better than a really bad guard no? Strange deal to me.
I agree. It sounds like CJ wanted a new deal and the team decided to dump him before he poisoned the locker room. But there is very little return. Kenyon Green was a highly touted lineman out of college but he’s looked like a total bust so far.

Hard to go wrong with that. IF he can stay healthy. If he has a monster year, he will want $40,000,000 per and the Bills can't afford that.
He’s not really his brother. He hasn’t had a double digit sack year since 2021. He played 14 games last year and only had 5 sacks.

Former 5 star lineman. Only 23 years old and he’s coming from an organization that has been marked by shitty o line play and development. These are the kinds of projects Stoutland excels with. This is less of a bet on the player as it is on the Eagles principles and o line coach.

It was a salary shed but it was also done with the player’s request in mind to go somewhere he can play competitive football and Houston was a playoff team last year. The major thing they wanted to accomplish was getting a likely loose cannon off the squad they already decided they weren’t going to pay again. This is a CJGJ pattern. He’s only been with people for one year before his shit starts to wear thin.

Let’s see if he can bust the trend and be on the Texans for two years in a row.

Trading a proven player for a project works for me. But I can see why they had to do it, still it lowers the talent level of the defense.

Bills add a few more to the defense: DL Larry Ogunjobi (1y/8m), S Darrick Forrest (1y), re-signed Hamlin (1y)

No doubt. The Eagles have lost some talented football players this week. They will be tough to replace. They do bring back the best and most talented pieces

Are the Vikings looming as an option or are they a full go with McCarthy for 2025?
Haven't heard much on this but agree with an earlier comment that I think said unlikely as doubt he wants to mentor someone...and wants to start.

I was thinking 1 year contract, not really mentoring. Agreed though. Just thinking the more desirable roster, indoors, coach, etc.
