Though he is not happy at the fact he has no chance to stsrt
I think he will be extremely happy to get out of NE.
He gets a year to absorb an offense that actually plays offense & then will be a FA (I assume) Gets a chance to start his career over with a new team. At least giving him a fighting chance.

Worst case. He is only good enough to play full time backup for a team in very nice weather.

I do think Darnold and Lock are both going to get chances to start again in their career so I think thats fair. The Fields experiment failed in Chicago but Fields is still young enough to get another good chance somewhere at some point.

Be interesting to know what Mayfield is looking to make.
Been wondering myself. Guessing he's looking to make $40 mil or mid-upper 30s but will he get it?

Definitely not often guys get in mid-upper $20 millions for QBs as they either get crazy money or a lot less. could see some hesitance as he's never put 2 good seasons together.

I think that's more about the agents belief in what they can get in the current market. I'm guessing his agent is telling him $20m/yr...whether that materializes or not is another story
I'd be surprised if he does not get at least $20 mil.....but guessing he and his agent want a lot more.

I agree, the Browns are not the old Browns they have made some good moves. They still need another defensive line help for Garrett
Granted not saying much but THIS regime is so much better than the others since the return. Best since Accorsi and possibly better IMO.

No doubt need another DE...either bring back Smith or someone better.

None of it matters if the team is injured and Watson doesn’t improve. Andrew Berry has been amazing. Haslem willing to spend his cash has done wonders. A willing owner makes all the difference in the world. Refreshing after watching Dolan, the Indians owner, for the last 20 years
Yes...whatever one thinks of Haslam the guy has a will to win like Gilbert and will spend whatever he's asked. I would not want to see him sell like many of his critics. No way.

Not 100% sure but I think Sneed being on the franchise tag is about $20 mil. and he has to be moved. Mahomes' contract can be restructured to the detriment of future seasons, I'd imagine.
Guessing many teams do this...I know the Browns make the first year of deals like this the league minimum. Thinking KC did the same here?

Even though many though it was some loophole created just for Watson and his suspension.

Mayfield got 3 years and 100 mill from the Bucs.

50 mill guaranteed and it can be worth as much as 115 mill.

Good pickup for the Bears IMO - they should have a good secondary with Byard and Brisker at safety and Johnson, Stevenson, Gordon at corner.

Eh the Bears still suck. They just plain suck! I've seen teams suck before but they are the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

They could be a better team than the Seahawks next season if they spend their FA cash wisely.

There are more QBs than QB vacancies. Some good QBs or some with potential are going to find themselves shut out. I hope Fields gets a chance but I could see teams being scared of Fields demanding an improved 2024 contract after a trade, especially after what Spotrac posted as his market valuation.
