traded a former 5th round player and a 5th round pick for former 1st rounder...neither has done much.

nonstory....though I get why both teams did it.

Yeah, it makes sense for Cleveland, honestly. A guy with some decent starting experience who can play if needed. Not well, mind you, but that's why littlefingers is on his third team.

The way I see it, Howie accounted for his mistake of trading a third for Pickett by moving him. He was not worth a third, but in this QB-starved league, a former first round choice is going to command some value from teams who think they can rehabilitate him.

As it turned out, Pickett was very clearly outplayed by Tanner McKee both in preseason and in the regular season when both got a shot to play, and thus became expendable. DTR is a throw-in, and I know from my Browns buddy at work that he apparently looked awful last year, but I could see Philly trying to keep him for a season and try to develop him as the #3.

Cowboys needed another RB so probably a good pickup for them, but Williams has been kind of disappointing lately, his best year was as a rookie in 2021, he had 903 yards rushing that season, he was injured in 22 and then has just been mediocre the past couple of seasons, averaging under 4 yards a carry, he definitely can be good though so he might have a resurgence in Dallas. Interesting.
Greenlaw is another good addition to an already very good Denver D - they are really loaded on D.

The Broncos picked up two nice defensive pieces. I think both players bring a physicality and attitude that winning defenses need.
