There are some reports that Dallas Goedert's status in Philly may be in flux, with some believing he may be about to be extended, others saying there is a chance he is traded. He is only under contract one more year, and while he has been very good at times, he has struggled with consistency and being healthy.

I suspect they extend him and keep him in the nest for like two more years, but he could also become trade bait/cap casualty if the team feels he will demand too much money and walk in a year. His backup Grant Calcaterra is not as good of a blocker but is decent, and filled in pretty capably last season when Goedert was out.

Disagree on your assessment of Calcatera. He’s not a great 2nd TE. If no Goedert, they’ll have to do something.

Damn! That’s a lot of money. I’m gonna pivot to my team (cause I’m a selfish bastard like that). I don’t know about trading for Myles Garrett. It will cost a 1st and likely a 2nd or 3rd and then having to redo his deal to the tune of at least 35 million a year if not 37 million a year with at least 95 million guaranteed.

Eagles have young pass rush already.
As special as Garrett is there's no reason to give up massive draft capital and monster contract on top of that. They won a SB without him and the FO scouts have done a great job with info on helping Howie draft D-line. Keep the picks and keep drafting young talent on D-line and other area of needs.

Texans have traded for Christian Kirk, sending a late round pick to the Jags in exchange for him. Texans needed some help at receiver so it makes sense, if he can stay healthy he’s a solid player.

Zero chance that they get that in a trade if he wants that contract and will hold out if he doesn't get it. If you need to give him $30M per you aren't giving up more than a 3rd for him

Most Seattle fans with some ounce of football IQ are thinking a late 2nd or 3rd at BEST.

Here's my thoughts on it:

I don't think he's worth $30M+ at all, nor do I think he's worth a 1st at this point. Seattle will be lucky to get a mid-late 2nd... which would mean you re-coup draft capital (DK was a late 2nd) and save future cap on a receiver IMO that's hit his peak and is coming off his worst year.

If someone gives a 1st for DK it's an auto A+ for Seattle and F grade for the acquiring team.

I think if I'm the Chargers, I'd be okay with sending a 1st to get DK if I'm getting a 3rd back. From a value chart standpoint, that still puts Seattle as receiving a very late 1st round value but the Chargers can get a starter at a lower positional value in rd3 to make up for the salary hit they'll take.

I've seen KC being tied to DK and it doesnt make any sense at all. DK is a superstar athlete with mediocre route running? In our offense, we already have that with Xavier Worthy. We need the guy with stellar route running who may or may not be a plus athlete.

There will be more shocking releases in the next 3 to 4 days.

Kirk for a second seems high.
What do you mean? The Texans gave a 7th round pick to the Jags in exchange for Christian Kirk, not a 2nd. Unless there’s some other Kirk on the move you have your facts wrong.

He might be speculating on Kirk Cousins? Dunno... but I do know Kirk has a no trade clause, so he's going to have to agree to go somewhere he wants. I can't imagine they'd ever net a 2nd for him but who knows.. Wilson had a no trade clause and got 2 1sts and a haul of players, coming off an injury and was only a couple years younger at the time. Could happen lol.

I agree they'd have to draft or sign another guy, I wasn't trying to suggest that they would be set at the position. But I could see them moving on from Goedert as a business decision, as he is about to turn 30 and likely wants one more big contract. It makes a good deal of sense honestly. That said, I hope they can extend him or just ride with him one more year, for ring reasons! The Eagles have 10 of 11 offensive starters returning, which is great because there will almost certainly be 2 or 3 changes on defense.
