I see your point, I guess as well that Michigan's Charmin soft schedule, especially early in the year should definitely allow them to go easy on Corum and give Edwards more looks. I'm just always bullish on rotational backs, especially when they have a guy like Corum in front of them who is going to vulture a lot of the TDs
Your concern is 100% valid as we all know had it not been for Corum, Edwards would have been a lot higher or even more then likely OB's keeper this year. You have that risk with Corum there that he doesn't end up a weekly starter. I remember once I had success starting both James Davis and CJ SPiller at Clemson. Usually one had a good game and one didn't or both had an average game and it translated into one nice game. Not ideal but i can work. I think the difference this year is that Edwards will get more PT then he did last year. I think he will be more like Devon Achane his SOPH year where you could have started him most weeks. Problem was he would have a really good week or a really poor week fantasy wise an sometimes you either have to start him every week to make sure you get the great weeks or not start him at all because it becomes annoying then you miss his really good weeks but save his bad weeks. It is a bit of a headache but I think you will see more of an "average" to "good start for him this year then "bad" to "great" start.
