Sixers need a guy who can replace the minutes Georges Niang gave them. They likely need 12-14 minutes from him a game. Most eventual Harden trade expectations seem to have Tucker going out with him as well. They needed a body and there wasn’t much out there. For the same money, I would have brought in Derrick Jones Jr from Chester, PA who just signed with the Mavs for around 2.3 a year. I’m hoping that with all of the back up Center names they brought in that Plan A is to use BBall Paul Reed to play a lot of wing. I think Paul Reed’s ceiling is actually P.J. Tucker if Nick Nurse has an imagination.
It looks like the Sixers are only 3 deep at guard. I’m not counting on Harden to be in the mix. I’m guessing Maxey and Melton will be the starters and Pat Bev is the backup at both positions. If they take injuries there they’re likely pulling up a G League guy. Looking bare at Guard.

Well he actually had a negative impact on the worst frontcourt in the NBA in Dallas, so…

Rotation player at best.

That's all he is signed to be. PF/C now includes AD, Hayes, Vanderbilt, Hachimura and Wood, not to mention guys like Prince and Lebron that could see some time at the 4 (and their 2 way rookie Castleton). Low cost, low risk signing for a depth piece in the front court that brings a perimeter game the Lakers didn't really have from their big guys. He does offer a scoring punch from the 4 to fill in if/hen AD misses games. Does he have rebounding and defensive shortcomings? Of course, that's why he's available cheaply.

As far as Dallas goes, he and Kidd clearly had issues. Hopefully the Lakers staff (and Lebron/AD) can get him to fall in line, but the only real cost here is opportunity cost (not getting other guys I also would've considered like Harry Giles, Neemias Queta, etc).

Lakers are becoming a prove-it career reboot opportunity of late. Worked for Monk and Schroder (and Troy Brown Jr to a lesser degree). Wood will be back on the market with potentially more demand next summer for a raise the Lakers won't be able to match.

I like the Wood signing.

He can play with AD.

He can fill in when/if he gets injured.

He can keep Vanderbuilt on the floor longer too.

They have a ton of offense.

Lets see if the defense can hold up.

I would love this roster if they kept Shroeder instead of Gabe.

Reaves can’t guard everyone in the backcourt.

I've never even heard of the dude. Seems like a dime a dozen kinda fella
Dude was the #1 player in the country before multiple knee injuries.

He just can’t stay healthy enough to stick with a team long term.

The fact that 3J couldn’t stop a couple of mid at best nba players shows he a fraud
Just cannot stop chasing every shot and a fricking foul machine.

Not a fraud.

But, slightly overrated….imo

Yeah, I like it too. Hopefully, Ham can get some defense out of him.

There seem to be some questions re: his attitude...maybe a veteran team like the Lakers can keep that from being an issue?

Could end up being a great signing if those 2 things can be done. Especially if they lose AD for a significant amount of time.

Yeah, I saw a couple of podcasts that stated he was unhappy with his role in Dallas, thought he should be higher in the pecking order.

He couldn’t possibly carry that same belief to the Lakers…lol

He’s the 3rd best PF behind Lebron and AD.

Can play with either, maybe even both.

* Lebron should not spend a lot of time at the 3 *

Low risk, high reward.

If he drags ass, you have Rui and Hayes to take his minutes.

You guys gonna have some serious depth, offensively.

Yeah, at least offensively, they seem to have improved. The defense doesn't need to be great, but it needs to be good enough to get stops when they need them and to keep them in games when the offense struggles.. Especially against the better teams.

If they can do that, they'll have a good shot at a title.

Closer to the Season, after the Lillard/Harden Pennie’s drop, we will rank the top 8 in each conference.

I have the Lakers top 5.

Depending on Smart’s ability to keep Memphis afloat, Adams being healthy so JJJ fouling ass can slide back to the 4, maybe higher.

Champs, Suns, Kangz, Griz/Lakers.

Dubs in there too.

Being reported that Lebron is in Saudi Arabia negotiating for real money.

With the amount of depth in the front court, it certainly seems like Lebron will be playing a lot of 3 for better or worse.

I really wanted them to keep Schroeder....didn't like the Vincent pickup at first but it has grown on me.

LOL.

Can't be mad with Schroder, he got an offer for more than the Lakers could match. He's given away enough potential salary in past seasons.

I wanted Jevon Carter, surprised (pleasantly) by the Vincent signing.

Good fit with the Raps too IMO.

He only got a few mill more per but we were limited on what we could offer him.

I would have kept Shroeder over signing Gabe, if the price was right.

You have enough offense.

Worse…lol

But, you live with it.

Don’t see many minutes for Cam.

Bron, Prince, Vando, Rui, Wood, Davis even Hayes can play the 4.

Bron, Prince, Vando, Rui can play the 3.

Nice problem to have.

Yeah, the career resurgence plan for Cam might be tough to accomplish with the depth on hand.

The problem is all of them are best at the 4 (besides reddish)
