It is tough to gauge. They completely changed the defense while he was recovering from the nerve injury. So it could be a case that he is just no longer a scheme fit instead of not having it anymore. He is still only 28.
Eagles lost a starting LB yesterday to a hamstring issue. They just need bodies at the position at this point. Looks like he visits the Cowboys tomorrow. It’s likely Eagles vs Cowboys for the right to sign him.

Often overlooked by the stat mongers.

Niners used to have a DT that was never talked about, but to me was the key to the Niners always winning the trenches. His name. Justin Smith. The guy was a straight stud, that was underappreciated.

DTs are often overlooked via stats. Much of their value is absorbing blocks to free up LBs.

It will be interesting if yesterday's game leads Howie to up the ante for Leonard. Cowboys desperately need a LB, but Philly needs one even more...

Eagles can’t offer any more in the way of money. All they can offer is reps. He is likely a starter immediately in Philly. I haven’t followed the Cowboys situation at LB closely. They may be able to offer a similar circumstance with reps.

Sure they can. 2023 salary doesn't mean much to Leonard because Indy owes him that money that no team will pay over. What he makes from another team this year comes off of what Indy pays him. I think he is looking at a 2 or 3 year deal. I doubt he gets a 3 year deal but I suspect he may get a 2 year deal with a little SB or maybe if no SB, a portion of his 2024 salary guaranteed

I didn’t know teams could offer that kind of a contract this late in the season. It makes sense I guess. Not sure why I didn’t think of that.

I do think a deal for just this year is more likely. He probably isn't signing a low ball deal for next year and teams probably aren't going to break the bank right now committing to next year when it isn't clear how good he is now or going forward. If he signs with a good team and has a nice run he could be in line for a big pay day in the offseason

100% and he needs to make up his F-In Mind.

That’s why I think reps is an important factor. If I’m him, I’m making the same money regardless. Both teams are playoff teams. Which team gives me the best opportunity to show and earn that next deal? That’s what I would be focused on. Ironically, yesterday’s shit show may have been a plus in trying to sign Leonard.

Doesn't sound like it's going to be Dallas so I'm going to say he sucks and whoever signs him overpaid :D
He’s an Eagle. I haven’t changed my mind. I don’t think he has much left. That being said, he’s probably better than what they have. Nakobe Dean looks like a whiff. The whole plan at LB has back fired for the Eagles.

I’d sign Darius Leonard but not Shaq. Darius was the much better player

I wonder if this was “wink wink” agreed to before the season even started. Doesn’t seem like Suh wants any part of being involved in the off-season And doesn’t seem like the Eagles have a problem with it.
