Cha-CHING!

Had the under at 8, sweating bullets.

Nice game. Bailey's great AB was a turning point.

Never doubted him (seriously, I just don't ever with that kid right now)

A Brian Wilson type save

FYWW!
Yeah, he didn't have his best, but he got the job done. Really showed some heart. Unlike some here who doubtless bailed out in the bottom of the 6th.

I just see his stuff and his demeanor and I have total confidence. To me he's the best closer, top 3 for sure

I really hope he lasts. It's been a long time since we had a closer last more than one year.

He was good last year and then discovered a 3rd pitch. I feel pretty good about him.

Hopefully Crawford's bat will continue to come around.

He doesn't need to be a superstar, but just be involved. He's the de facto leader on this team, and it's important that he contribute.

We have . . . Doval led the team in saves last year and is doing so again this year.

But looking beyond Doval, Will Smith was tied for the team lead in 2018 and led in 2019.

Eliminates ties from consideration, then you have to go back to 2015-2016 and Santiago Casilla.

He can always help the pen. But don't expect a whole lot this year he seems kinda done.

Back in the 3rd wild card

I should have added "and we were competitive".

Crawford can probably give us about as much as we've seen. He is ready for retirement.

But don't expect a whole lot this year he seems kinda done.

Sorry, but I love to be right. Facts Trump feelings every time.

Up until May 22, Crawford was hitting at a .540 OPS.

Since then, .883. And that's before going 2-4 tonight.

Even during the dynasty, the closer role was fluid. But that was primarily because there were a few dominant arms.
Oh, I remember. But maybe that's the nature of the role.

But I sure would like for Doval to model after Mariano Rivera in terms of longevity and stability, not Brian Wilson. Maybe I'm asking too much.

No one will touch Mariano for that kind of longevity but Doval could be around for a while hopefully. He has 'it'

We are back to being tied with the Brewers for the #3 WC spot.

Two months of horrible numbers are feelings but three weeks of good numbers are facts? Ooohkay.

Yes. You are starting to catch on. One has to look at the data that will best determine the trend going forward.

I am completely uninterested in how an athlete performed two months ago when they were injured or some other situation impinged on their performance.
