the one thing I will not miss this year is Benning talking about circling back or having time or anything... or just talking...

Imagine being the Oilers with the top two scorers in the league and barely over 50% to make the playoffs and a GM who has done nothing to this point to improve his team?

/Aside from Evander Kane

I don't understand this deal. Trade a young player who is a mild defensive liability for an older player who is a significant defensive liability. Makes zero sense. Don't think it makes us any better now and definitely is worse down the road on an aging team. Sprong had shown flashes and with better finishing could someday be a serviceable 2nd line forward. I don't get it. Caps going nowhere this year. Start trading older parts for youth and picks imo. Getting to rebuild while having something that still draws in fans (OV's goal record chase) is a huge opportunity management should not be ignoring.
The one big thing with Sprong, like Sheary, they both tend to play great against the Penguins. Both like to show up their old team at any chance. In the playoffs, if they meet, that is a huge asset to have.

To his credit, Kane has been very good and hasn't pulled a gun on anybody.

Well, that's something. Kulak is all right.
They need to finalize the rumored deal for Dean Kukan and promote Slater Koekkoek so fully half their D will be Koo Koo
