In my opinion, there are 9 guys I'd like to see back. Others have gotten old and age is a big factor in this day and age, regardless of the TB12 factor. Phillips is playing like a 20 year old and not a 30 year old. Everyone else is under 30 and resigning them shouldn't break the bank or crush the cap.

J.C. Jackson
Adrian Philips
Ted Karras

I'd grade that as a good assessment and I'd upgrade Gunner to a yes!. The guy consistently improves field position.

Still have to know what we are going to pay to each of these players.
Can't say yes to everybody and some priorities we will lose even if they are prioritized.

By the way, we have a lot of good players on IR. Some may come back this year but I expect it's getting to late for most of them.
Many of these players will take positions over guys on this list that are looking for $$$$$

I guess I assumed that from each. Clearly we ain't paying 15 mill a year for Gunner though that'll probably the cost of JC...

Is there any chance at all that he could eventually morph into a quality slot receiver?

I used to always think why do they keep bringing Bolden back.

But he has made some pretty decent plays on offence this year, not just special teams.

I've always seen it that way. He just needs to learn that "turn-on-a-dime" move that Edelman had... The made His career (and being tough as nails, which Gunner already has).

The reason I started this thread is that I honestly believe that BB thinks so far ahead that he's starting his breakdown sessions in his notebook already. If the Patriots make it to the playoffs and go deep or even all the way, Bill's time will be limited to go back and review. He's got Wolfe and Ziegler looking at the seniors in college, Patricia working with him on the present roster and he's coaching the team.

Oh yeah, Bill's screwing himself again by getting this team cranked up. He'll be picking in the late 20's or 30's again when the draft rolls around.

I think that 9 of the unrestricted will require work, others not so much.

McCourty - Said in camp that this was "Probably my last year"
Trent Brown - Best years have been a Patriot. He's making $9M and will be looking for $12M and probably 3 or 4 years.
JC Jackson - Pay the man. Think he'll hang around for 5 years $75M, $50M guaranteed
Donte Hightower - Not for $12M a year. Retirement time.
Adrian Phillips - Worth every cent.
Ted Karras - He'll com back for $5M or so.
Matthew Slater - He's said that he's looking to retire.
James White - Won't be a lot of interest with a surgically repaired hip.
Brandon Bolden -Depends on what he'll sign for. With White returning, his time will be cut back.
Brandon King - See yah, wouldn't want to be yah
Marcus Martin - Nope
Raekwon McMillan - Nope
Harvey Langi - Can probably get him for 3/$10M and he'd be a great back up, ST
Fumagalli - Who??
Jakob Johnson - Worth paying him a bit
Terez Hall - Can't stay healthy
Ja'Whaun Bentley - Figure out some way to keep him. He's finally figuring it out.
Jakobi Meyers - Restricted, but sign him to a small multi-year deal like 4/$24M - $16M guaranteed. He'll take it.
Gunner - Restricted. Make him an offer like Jakobi. Worth keeping for his versatility.

I'd be surprised if Devin quits this year.
Trent will have poor bargaining position
$5 milion is high for Karras
Fumagalli has a lot of potential and will be cheap having been out all year

The 2022 roster will depend on a bunch of things.

1. Cap
2. If owners vote to expand the roster to 58 and permanently keep the PS at 15
3. Then the cap will be based on the top 58 salaries
4. Owners vote to limit guaranteed money to 50% of the total contract
5. NFLPA agrees to everything the owners want

That was my list as well, though I wasn't sure about White? Need to see what he can do after his injury.

I agree on Gunner. Watching Jackobi back there hasn't given me a warm fuzzy to say the least.
