FYI, Bruce Brown's 3pt stats were pretty poor for 3 years prior to last season and only attempted 1.3 shots per game. Doesn't exactly move the needle on floor spacing himself.
Yeah, not exactly sniper.....SMH.

Sure, all that is true.

But, you are moving the goal posts.

I'm just talking about Walker and Brown.

They are not good.

Can they improve?

Sure.
If you're saying they can improve.....why is Walker's (a 23yo) ceiling a washed Bradley?

Well, I mean he's no Lonnie Walker in the last 18 games of a 82 game season.... Lmao

Maybe Sports Illustrated would have changed your grade had they used that very important snapshot.

Lonnie Walker IV, Lakers: C-

Not so sure about this one. On one hand, good for the Lakers for adding a younger, up-and-coming player after their fascination with over-the-hill vets last summer. On the other hand, handing the full taxpayer midlevel to Walker, a subpar defender, doesn’t seem prudent. The Lakers desperately need two-way wings to complement their stars. While finding those types of players is easier said than done, players like Bruce Brown or Otto Porter Jr. would be more impactful in this situation than Walker. He is a capable scorer, but defensive metrics paint a very poor picture of someone who struggles both in space and fighting over screens. Walker will be a downgrade from Malik Monk, to whom the Lakers were limited in what they could offer. Los Angeles may have been bargain hunting, but it feels like they could’ve found a player who was more likely not to be a liability in a playoff series.

Because he can't defend consistently and he can only hit a shot in spurts.

He can have a good game and then disappear for the next 3.

I'm talking about what is, not what can be.

Can't say I've watched much Nets or Pistons so I'm not the person to ask. Who's to say he was even an option for the Lakers?
I can agree with that.

We don't know.

I honestly believe the Lakers missed on guys because they only wanted to do 1 year deals.

Ps. Bruce Brown is better and it isn't close.

1-Regarding your previous post......why they had no reason to keep Walker since they are tanking and selected several guards in the 2022 draft.

2-"Lonnie Walker is also a great pickup for the Lakers. The former Spurs guard was largely overshadowed by DeMar DeRozan and Dejounte Murray in San Antonio. However, Walker has proved that he can be a solid option off the bench for a team. The departure of Malik Monk for Sacramento opens up a potentially larger role for Walker in Tinseltown." Clutch Points

"This first wave of names aren't going to bowl you over. Damian Jones, Troy Brown Jr., Lonnie Walker IV, but these are young, switchable defenders, they will be able to bring a degree of athleticism they were missing from those types of role players last year." Dave McMenamin

Ham has stressed defense and an ability to push the ball up the court. That's why they added the players they did. Youth and athleticism and in Walker's case, he averaged a career high in ppg so there's that.

Yeah....

That was awful.

But, the story behind his hair choice is 100x worse.

I'm not rootimg against this kid.

I hope he has a great career.

In the end, it was Lebron and AD that kept the Lakers out of the playoffs due to injury anyway. What did you expect with the options the Lakers had? Kyrie definitely moves the needle if acquired (and any shooter that may come with him in that deal, whether it be Harris, Curry, Richardson, McDermott, etc). We're only a week into free agency.

Assuming he's healthy both physically and mentally...he should be able to do what they were hoping Westbrook could and help them tread water when Lebron and/or AD are out.
