Make the playoff maybe. But not a shoe in.
id take the young Cavs over the Knicks and the Cavs wont have any cake walk to the playoffs.

Celtics
Nets
Sixers
Heat
Bucks

those are all probably definite playoff teams unless one implodes with injuries totally and completely.

bulls
raptors
hawks
cavs
hornets

all of those teams have talent

even with Brunson I would put the Knicks no better than 11th in the East.

Pacers, Pistons, Magic are simply rebuildinig. The Wizards- who knows what the fuck the Wizards are doing. lol.....

Bill Oram put all of that nonsense to bed awhile back. Sorry you missed it. Stephen A must have been on.
I didn't miss anything. You don't have any real way knowing what goes on at the Lakers behind closed doors anymore that I do or anybody else for that matter. We accept a modicum of trust in those whose jobs are to disseminate the truth (or something close to it) about a given issue in any sport because we are not privy to the actual truth or reality involved.

We all believe something based on the results of actions. Kurt Rambis almost single-handedly ran the Minnesota Timberwolves into the ground and he was doing it to the Lakers along with his wife Linda for a while in the past. If things change then maybe they made changes to stop doing what was well-known to be true.

Oram gets his information from what he has been informed by someone close to the situation or maybe directly. His reliability is good as is Woj's but they are human and can make errors like the rest of humanity. I'll stop believing what I read when the actual reality presents itself not necessarily what has been the talking points of Jeanie Buss and the Lakers FO.

The evidence will be the deciding factor. If the Lakers stop with the stupidity that has exisited from the Rambi getting involved in matters they shouldn't be involved with or Jeanine Buss stops taking advice from Magic Johnson when he has proven to be not very good at his job, then I'll move on.

Until then, stop thinking you can tell me stop reading some shit you considered to be false when many others have declared otherwise.

Because endorsed by the NBA somehow means...no clickbait articles.

And you included lakeshow life and Laker Nation. lol
And what sources of correct information did you offer to support your all-encompassing view-point that what Bill Oram declared was indeed the truth? Didn't see any except for Oram as your single source.

the thing that is too bad is that its going to be hard to tell.......if you had Red Auerbach as the GM it would be tough to see what is going on since the GM is so hamstrung from lack of cap space and assets.

IF they can do anything to make significant improvements to the team I will be very very impressed considering what they have to work with.

and if LeBron does not sign an extension going into this year----that does not bode well.

at that point--- you trade THT to open up cap room- keep Davis and totally clear the books.

It will be a good hint if LeBron is going to stay if they take on long term money. IF they take on no long term money- that is a hint he might be gonzo.

at this point I get the feeling that Lakers fans might not mind LeBron walking....trading THT to clear cap space- and just having AD on the books and a boatload of cap room.

yah good luck with that

probably just posturing--- if they didnt take 3 they would be insane.

I bet its 2 firsts and a decent player.

what is his contract situation anyway? If he is up soon- I wouldnt give up the asstets and THEN have to pay him max or near max. Not unless I was a team that was one player away from possibly winning it all- and even then that is steepp.

next year the ONLY contracts the Lakers have that are guaranteed are Davis--- and THT with an 11M player option. They could get off that pretty quick.

say you keep 3-4 of the young guys who are super cheap........

maybe you get lucky and Monk resigns.....

Davis....3-4 young guys...monk, and 80 mill in cap room is not a bad place to start- although still missing some picks is a drag

Taurean Prince back in Minnesota for two years and $16 million... Solid stopgap for Connelly.

It is difficult to know what all Lakers fans want but at this point Wiggy, the Lakers only have six players under contract. What everyone wants is not going to happen in all likelihood because it is quite evident nobody wants Russell Westbrook or his albatross contract.

Wiz likely getting Brogdon... They'll be competitive. Far from sold on Hornets.

Looking at this list, I like the Pacers' chances to finish near the bottom of the east.

I was ALMOST a little surprised the Pacers didnt bite on Brogdon deal. It clears his cap long term--- and gets them a first rounder....they must not have thought much of THT-- or have plans for the cap space and think they can get more immediate clearance for Brogdon.

they should...they are rebuilding....best thing they can do is clear the books....play the young guys and get another high pick.....

after this year- maybe they are ready to push a little bit-- still developing young guys- so they should get another lotto pick that following year....

and after that- if you picked the right guys--- depending on how the East falls- maybe you make a move up.

I will tell ya one thing- id take the Pacers roster and future any day over the Wizards or Knicks.

MAgic--- who knows.....at some point- you cant just keep picking in the lotto- you gotta win. They have talent though thats young...maybe they devlop- maybe they dont. Fultz and Isaac healthy maybe we see some imprvoement this year.

Brogdon is older than I thought- he will be 30 in December....only 1 more year on his deal too.....he can be moved.

scratch that-

it looks like hes fucking expiring. nice

Tough to celebrate tanking obscurity though. Perhaps the biggest test for our young star Haliburton is going to be how he handles losing.
