It means something. If a team gets caught, the penalty is a 2nd round pick.

There’s no issue with people talking. But I’m loving this bull shit from a guy whose team is tanking. No issues there but damn you if you reach out like everybody does.

$10 million fine and 5 first round picks. Can’t have rules if you don’t enforce them.
You don’t make any sense. They are enforcing them. You just don’t like the current penalty.

And there’s a penalty for talking to people early. There’s no penalty for tanking (unless you’re the Sixers). That’s way more impactful than having an early conversation with an agent.

Sounds equivalent to the death penalty for shop lifting.

Never mind that tampering is very hard to prove, which will always lead to inconsistent enforcement. A harsh penalty would insure horribly unfair and erratic results.
