Sure, Toronto can and should. You don't let Barnes get in the way of landing KD.

It would be like landing Leonard damn near all over again.
Well they aren’t including him bc they aren’t throwing away a potential star and A LOT more for an injury prone player that is aging and after the big deal they still aren’t better than a handful of teams. That’s the difference. This isn’t KD joining GS. This is KD joining a playoff team but that team is losing assets to acquire KD.

PHX and MIA are different situations, both should absolutely do everything to acquire KD and both would become favorites, Toronto wouldn’t imo

@DJ it sounds like Masai agrees with me. You should tell him he is wrong and you are right

He's young (21), athletic and has decent size. So there's some upside. The problem is that he has been on a veteran laden team which has stunted his development because his playing time has been inconsistent.

He's never going to be a star, but if he can get get some development, he could be a solid role player. I think the biggest thing that could help him would if he concentrated mainly on defense. Hopefully, Ham's apparent emphasis on defense will help with that.
Great tools to be at least a solid to good defender.

6-4 with a 7-1 wingspan.

He says that now. The trading for KD gets more intense and he may change his mind.

GM's and FO people never say what they will really do, right? LOL.

His upside hasn't been realized largely because he has been pushed into roles that don't develop his strengths. Putting him on the floor with Russ and other ball dominant players and expecting him to be a spot up shooter is just wasting time. He has the physical tools to become a plus defender and has shown at times his upside offensively when allowed to create shots for himself and others.
THT needs to leave to develop, much like Ingram, Randle, and Ball.

LOL.

I would gladly trade RW and a few 1st rounders for Mitchell and filler (Beverly) but Utah isn't doing that.

You guys added some nice pieces in FA, why get rid of him now? He's a super good defensive player.
He’s unplayable in the playoffs outside of late game offense/defense switches with time outs. I’d be good if he was a 33% 3 point shooter that took 5-6 a game. The defense doesn’t cover him. Teams take their best help defender and put them on Thybulle so that guy can roam and play havoc helping on the ball or at the rim.

The fuck you's just keep coming for Westbrook.

No kidding, lol. That trade would have to be a done deal to consider bringing in Bev. This would be assuming that Utah has interest in THT, the only way the Lakers can even start talks. So....unlikely.

I'd like to see him brought along similar to Michael Cooper with the Showtime Lakers. He was also athletic with a little offense. Earned his playing time being a defensive stopper and added offense over the years.

THT could probably be developed the same way. I doubt he'd get to Cooper's level, but he can be pretty good as a role playerdoing that.

If nothing else there are definitely a number of ways to go.....but I'm more inclined to keep sexton or try to package him in a deal for a solid or even stud SF than I would be to hope one would come here in FA.
I agree.....keep Sexton, Love, etc.....let this team have its own identity.
