Pittsburgh improved to 4-1 on the season following Saturday's 52-21 win over Georgia Tech. Quarterback Kenny Pickett completed 23 of 36 passes for 389 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions in the blowout win. Pickett has been a large part of Pitt's success this season, completing 72.0% of his passes for 1,731 yards with 19 touchdowns and one interception. His passing efficiency stat of 191.3 is ranked second-best in the country after Week 5.
"He should be a Heisman candidate," Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi said in an interview with ESPN. "It's what he is right now. The guy is so smooth, he's so calm. ... He's a smart football player, and it takes time to get that where you want it to be. He's put the work in and he deserves what he's getting right now."
