I see Lethbridge put in a Memorial Cup bid for 2026. This better not happen.

Well, this should hopefully light a fire under the Tigers to put in their own bid.

And it did...

Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers have declared their intention to bid for the right to host the 2026 Memorial Cup. The Memorial Cup is emblematic of major junior hockey supremacy and is considered one of the most difficult trophies to win in all of sports. The Tigers have previously competed for the championship in 1973, 1987, 1988, 2004 and 2007 with the team capturing back to back titles in 1987 and 1988.

Gonna need Lindstrom and Basha back in Medicine Hat to live up to this ranking.

I saw the Ruck brothers during the summer training at Scotiabarn and theyre not midgets anymore so …. (take it away WillieD)

I hate to make this comparison, but the Tigers look like the Oilers to me - Can they outscore the issues they have on defense and in net? It is likely easier to do in Junior than in the NHL.

By the way, it sounds like McKenna took a knock during the pre-season and is a game-time decision for opening night this Saturday.

The Chiefs open with a 4-3 OT win in Prince George. Game 2 up there tonight. Nice for them to get that trip out of the way before the weather gets nasty.

Hope they get it!

Edit: oh, I guess Spokane is bidding for the 2026 Memorial Cup too, so I guess I hope Medicine Hat doesn't get it lol. But would absolutely prefer the Hat over Lethbridge. Honestly I think the Tigers probably are most deserving to host.

I needed a good laugh after the Rebels swept the Tigers over the weekend. It looks like a young team read some great press clippings and forgot that you actually have to play the game.

Spokane went 2-0 this past weekend and are 3-1 so far on the season. Looks like they have a few playmakers on the team besides just Catton. Still not sold on the team yet, both sides of special teams need work in particular, but I will say I'm cautiously optimistic.
