Why not give 1-0 Forfeits in all the games the Canucks play in and call it a season?

Think of it this way. 19 games.

We have 3 in hand from Montreal and we are 10 points from 4th.

Realistically. We are a Longshot for the playoffs so why cause harm?

Why not wait until next season?

But why cancel every single game when the "problem" here really doesn't call for it? The concerns are conditioning/preparation/days off concerns rather than injured list/roster concerns, are they not? It's not that they can't come back and play, it's that they can't come back, barely practice and then dive head-first into a schedule that barely gives them a day off the rest of the way. It might be tricky but I am sure that can be accommodated without canceling literally everything.

Once Calgary is eliminated I would think that the last 3 games will almost certainly be canceled.

The only team of the three getting any goaltending right now is Vancouver, and their actually good goalie isn't even playing at the moment.

I think the Habs probably have the toughest schedule left, too - 4 games against the Leafs, 3 against Edmonton and 2 against Ottawa (3-6 so far against them and the curse of the waived player to boot).

This isn't over.
