It's pretty unbelievable that it's December 4 and we still don't know if there will be a DH next season or not.

The CBA negotiations are going to be BRUTAL this time next year.
I thought that there was a decision by MLB not to use the DH in 2021 but then I keep hearing how no decision has been made and cannot find where I read that decision was made so I'm just confused. They need to set a direction so the GMs can plan accordingly (and the DH first guys can know who they are talking to for jobs).

Yeah they definitely haven't come to a decision yet, and some free agents (I think Nelson Cruz maybe said it?) are saying they'll wait to sign until they announce a decision because it will either open up or eliminate half the market.

I'm reading that both sides are in favor of the DH, but the owners are trying to hold off so they can use it as a bargaining chip in the CBA, or they want some concessions if they agree to it for 2021.

There is this article - Zaidi reveals Giants being told to plan for no DH in 2021

I gotta say..... I kinda liked having the DH last year *ducks*
For me it further confirmed that the game is boring af with the DH. The batting order holds no appeal anymore. Without the specter of the pitching slot coming up there is no urgency in getting that runner in from 2nd. Every slot in the lineup is the same thing. The same strategy exists for every batter in every situation (hit ball far).

a simplified game for a simplified fandumb.

While I don't necessarily disagree I kinda like hit ball far baseball.

It's kinda like the post-up game in basketball. Sure I THOUGHT I was going to miss it, but now I really don't. I find more enjoyment in launching 3-points, or guys driving into the lane showing off their athleticism, or running the fast break more.

Nuance bad.

Brute force good.

You think this would be a good gift for DH lovers?
Too complicated for their simple minds.

I think I took a cursory glance at this article back in late October and assumed no DH for 2021
