I am not a huge fan of the draft day trade chart, but just using it as a guide, according to that we can use our 44 (460 points) and our 3rd round comp pick (104 points) to move to the 2nd pick of round 2 (560 points). That would still leave us with #75 and #84.

Another example would be using our two 3rds to move up to around #19/20 of the 2nd round.

Another example would be use all 3 third rounders to move to around the 9th pick of the 2nd round. That would be interesting to have pick #9 and #12 tomorrow (3 in the top 44). Could potentially grab two starters and 3 with Parsons

One more and obviously it takes two to tango so these are meaningless so just having a little fun, but

Our 4th, 3rd round comp pick and the 3rd round pick we got from the Eagles would get us to around the 25th pick of the 2nd round. That would give us #12, #44, #57 and #75

I've been saying for a while this team does not need numbers. We need top end talent. This is how you accomplish that IMO

4 picks today... not sure we draft 4 players but the chance at having 5 of the top 100 from this draft is intriguing. Plenty of talent left out there.

We could still go S and OT at 44 and 75 and still get a good CB in the 3rd

I wish they would move up to get Barmore if he isn't the 33rd or 34th pick. Use our 2nd and the last 3rd. Then sit tight and wait for a corner and OLman.

i see us signing Casey Hayward CB
That is my hope as well. I don't want to see us reach for a corner at 44 if he is the 56th ranked player in their board. We can use help at DT, DE, S, OL...there are 7-8 free agent corners on the market that could walk in and start tomorrow

Casey Hayward for me

i see us signing Casey Hayward CB
I'm not sure we can afford Hayward. I'm all for it from a talent perspective but he is just a "good" player and I'm not sure he would accept what we would give him. The thing I like about Sherman is it would be short term and this defense needs someone other than the "hot boyz" and "the swiper" and the "Wolf Hunter" teaching them the right way to do things. Especially since Lee is now gone.

FA DTs are fairly picked over. The only three left with maybe something in the tank are Jurrell Casey, Kawann Short and Geno Atkins. Geno isn't going to be a nose and last year wasn't very good playing under. Casey wasn't bad and also isn't a nose, but he would provide depth. Short might be the best fit for us but hasn't been healthy lately. I'd kick the tires on Short to see if we can get him.

I feel like adding Sherman at corner would fit better as he is more of the savvy bully type who is not going to fall for tricks. He'll get beat by speed but his smarts at this stage of his career is what this team needs.

The 1st round disgusted me. I wanted horn or surtain. Parsons play speed is crazy. Runs a 4.36 Forty and on the field it looks even faster. The guy is so sudden and explosive

Continue to improve the defense tonight. Trade up for a corner

A 2-year deal minimum would be needed for either Sherman or Hayward at this point. Neither is going to take a cut-rate deal or give us a Cowboy hometown deal

We do need to trade up to get a corner or safety. After what happened with Horne and Surtain gone before we had a chance, I would not take that risk today.

I don't necessarily agree on Sherman requiring a "2-year deal minimum" and I don't know that I want to give Hayward more than that.

I said before I like everything I see/read about Elijah Molden, taking him at 44 is a reach and he probably won't be there at 75 but I wouldn't mind packaging our thirds to move up and take him. Diggs, Molden, FA corner would be a respectable secondary.

Parsons is a monster against the run which we desperately need and can bring it in the pass rush. If DLaw can flip the switch and be the guy he's been previously we can hopefully create a lot of noise.

Still need big men, a DT and Oline are my main hope for 44.

A couple of other possibilities that I haven't seen mentioned that I like: Carlos Basham and Odeyingbo. Can't exactly count on Gregory and if he were to get suspended again (less likely with rule change hopefully) we'd be starting Armstrong, Anae or T Basham. I'm certainly not saying those 3 will all stink, but I also wouldn't be surprised if all 3 are off the roster in 12 months. They may not even be good enough for the top of a rotation off the bench.

Geez the deeper you dig the more you see our defense sucks. Overhaul needed at all 3 levels
