Yup. They have done well.

Mobley was a good choice, especially for them. You knew they couldn’t take Suggs there.

I am surprised how well mark has worked out since he did nothing for Chicago

I was higher on garland than sexton.

I still would move mark and sexton in a deal for Simmons.

I always liked Allen. But even I didn’t see him getting this good this fast.
Now that I have seen this core I think Simmons is the wrong move for this team, rhey don’t need more defense (doesn’t hurt) they need a playmaker and a person that can create his own shot. In that deal they give up that playmaker, Sexton, to get more defense. No thanks on Simmons, that ship as sailed and Philly is asking too much. Okoro isn’t in that deal but Philly might want him and I wouldn’t give him up either

He's like that with me and others, too. as you said he did admit being wrong about a lot.....just no reason to then try and throw shade on the Cavs again.
There's always a reason to throw shade on the Cavs

I still doubt sexton and garland in the playoffs the same way I’ll doubt cj and dame in the playoffs (defensively)
I’m not sure Bickerstaff would change the starting lineup after playing so well. Sexton could be a guy that gets a high minutes off the bench and it would be a great role. Could try it out for one year and then contract, role, etc. would be discussed and if he isn’t hapoy they could trade him

I mean having multiple knees surgeries when he has zero history of them (he’s not Greg oden), that’s just bad luck.

I think wiseman absolutely had more trade value this summer. Even the Cavs didn’t see sexton as a franchise cornerstone or they would’ve paid him the 100m he asked for.

But yeah wiseman needing another surgery definitely has crippled his value for now.

Fwiw I wasn’t wiseman’s biggest fan, but I get why teams would go for him
not Sexton- Garland

its one of the reasons why I might prefer a smaller deal for Ross instead of LeVert

with LeVert I think there is pressure to start him- and I think we lose defense and athleticism without Okoro starting.

I think Ross is the perfect match for this team. He would be fine with a bench role. He would be greatful getting out of a situation like Orlando to get to a winner. He is signed next year for only like 11M.

Id trade for Ross- and then take something else with the deal- in a second. Rubio's expiring, Houston and SAS 2nd rounder for Ross and something to make salaries match.

I said in the very next post that I would bet against any young core in this situation.

Because modern history of the NBA has been you get a few years with the core, then guys start leaving and they win their title elsewhere.
Especially when its Cleveland. That's exactly what happened with LeBron, he had to leave to win a title. Only a miracle and hometown loyalty got him back to win one. I'm glad they did, for many reasons. But they're done now and forever.

I'm less sure of this than I was LOL

This is all correct. Cavs are in a pretty good place now, and you're right to be excited. But, still, it's Cleveland so you aren't going to win another title.
Better chance than GS in 5 years

I don't know about that. He's an elite passer and an elite finisher at the rim, that sounds like a playmaker to me. Although, not having a perimeter game can hinder that some. I think he'd be great for the Cavs, but they'd also need assurances that he just needs out of Philly and isn't in the process of becoming Kyrie.

I wouldn't meet Morey's asking price though. Cavs should decide what they're willing to give up and if it's not enough...walk away.

It is pretty clear why I said it. You are ignoring the context of the conversation that post was taken from. And I don’t care to rehash it.

I was defending myself against an unproved recall of an old post.

You take it as shade because you take everything as shade.
That's how he rolls, every time. For 5-6 pages.

would you rather have Gary Harris or Ross?

Im thinking Ross, but Harris would be an interesting guy as well.

I just would not make a big deal and trade Okoro or Love or Osman unless it was a no-brainer.

Eh. maybe. So GS wins yet another title in the next 1-3 years, then in 5 years they win with a Kuminga/Wiseman/Wiggins core + Ja Morant when he comes in as an FA.

Meanwhile, Cleveland keeps Clevelanding. I'll take my chances.

it just seems Sacramento put together a pretty damn good offer. I cant see the Cavs matching that.

If Morey isnt accepting Sacramento's offer as reported- i dont think the Cavs have much chance.

glad its not Kuminga and Ball. What an epic swing and miss.

but even Kuming and Ball wouldnt touch Mobley and Garland. Mobley has All NBA written all over him. Garland isnt too too far behind.

Yeah but I guess I should have included perimeter shooting. Mark has been a good lengthy defender and he has an outside shot. But imo they have to give a chance to Sexton to make him fit in to a certain role, if he can’t no harm done. Also Simmons could hurt this chemistry, this locker room is close knit and Sexton is one of those guys. If he buys in he could absolutely have a role as a 6th man. Another factor is Mobley’s outside game, if he forms into a guy that can spread the floor with consistency then I think Simmons could absolutely work. I just worry about Garland being the only shooter on the floor since we dont know what Okoro is yet as far as his outside game

totally.

its why Love, Markkanen and Osman are so important- because they are basically the only other 3 pt shooters.

Wade has been coming around.

I really dont want to make a big deal and get rid of Love, Markkanen, Osman or Okoro. This team is still so young and just scratching the surface.

Give them a vet on the bench to bolster the depth with the injuries. Rondo has been okay.

or we could trade Garland for a 5% chance at a star in a future draft ;) lol.....its just unbelievable. IT really is

over the summer tlance said Wiseman had more trade value than Garland. That if the Wiz were to trade Beal hed rather get Wiseman as a center piece. I think Wiseman has cratered his value and will more than likely be a bust. He might end up being a serviceable NBA player- but never come close to living up to what some people thought he could be.
But that's his point. AT THE TIME Wiseman did have strong trade value. It's less now that he seems to be unable to get his knee healthy. If he does, his value will jump back up. Things CHANGE, which is why you going back to rip comments that were true at the time is so very on brand for your faggotry.

Wiseman might indeed be a bust and you'll have your first win you can point to here (maybe second). He might end up great, or good, or ok. But that's still undetermined. And he was a valuable trade chip a year ago.

Doubtful...in 5 years, your core will all be playing for someone else. :heh:

Yes, I know they'll likely be there 7-8 years...but the joke still needed to be made. lol
I'd love to rate this joke well, but it's not that good. GS isn't the place to joke about people leaving to win titles. That's where they go to win titles. But I respect the attempt.
