KD will be responsible when the game is on the line to take those big shots and he is a leader.....Harden was brought in to be the #2 guy.

If Kyrie plays, there is probably about a 25% chance KD gets the last shot.

Because Harden and Kyrie are likely to touch the ball first.

I know what I said earlier was glossed over but I am starting to believe he doesn't want to play for a white coach. Everyone can feel free to crush me over it. It's me totally inferring. But what are his frustrations with Nash and D'Antoni exactly? They will subscribe to the most friendly offense possible for kyrie.

I've not heard of anyone else having issues with Brad stevens.. except kyrie.

In all seriousness, you might be right

Well, Irving is prepared to sit out the season.....Harden will pass as he showed in Houston, 10.4apg this season with talent nowhere near KD's level.....

But you are confusing things here DJ.

Harden dribbles 19 times before he passes. Unless he changes how he plays, KD is not going to happy with that.

Especially if Kyrie does return and does the same.

Just because he passes at the end of possessions doesn’t mean he isn’t a huge ball hog.

And like I told TJ12 I think he will change how he plays.....I am giving him the benefit of the doubt because I think after Houston.....he wants to win.

Everybody wants to win.

But is he actually willing to change his game to make it happen?

Maybe, maybe not. We won’t really know for sure until the playoffs.

If I'm the Nets, I'm sending copies of the NBA's retirement paperwork and talking to the league about voiding his contract. If he's not injured, he's got to be in breach in some way that the Nets could use to get that done.

Maybe @WiggyRuss has a better idea if that could be done or not? Or what it would take?
I really dont know. I am sure some articles will come out that will give us a fair idea- but the problem here predicting it is that it is unprecedented territory.

We have never seen a healthy player, let alone a healthy high profile player taking up a lot of cap space, all of a sudden decide he does not want to play.

The Players Union would definitely fight any action that would try and void his contract- and if Kyrie says that it is a civil rights issue do you want to litigate that in the press?

Who knows is the question. I am sure some of the reporters will give us an idea of what would happen.

Just from an injury stand point teams are allowed to apply to the league for an exemption---maybe they would give the Nets something like that in the shorter term before they see how real this is long term?

Is this story even real in the short term?

I am not convinced.

neither am I.

He could show up for the Nets next game.

on the same token- i wouldnt be shocked if he is still not there a month from now.

dude is crazy.

Totally.

Just weird that earlier in the day it was being reported that he was angling to play Saturday.

Then like an hour later this conflicting report comes out.

1 of them is wrong, or at least outdated. I have no idea which.

And he was allegedly excited about the Harden trade.

We will know when the game is on line and KD and Kyrie are open OR in the biggest moments is he just looking for his shot. Only time will tell.

Either way, star power dominates the league. Fit and depth matters in the postseason though
