He needs time with a sports psychologist more than he needs time in the gym.

^^^This^^^

Something has gotten into his head when it comes to the games. He's not the first guy to struggle with outside shooting and he sure as heck isn't the only guy who struggles with free throws. But most of those guys don't let it stop them from shooting.

When a guy has so little confidence that he passes out of a dunk attempt because he might get fouled and have to shoot free throws...that isn't going to get fixed by just "seeing some shots go in" to restore confidence.

It's like his confidence is so far gone it has to be completely rebuilt.

He’s been doing that for years now. We won’t know until he attempts a couple jumpers in a live game. It’s just really sad that he has been in the league for 4 years, uber-talented, seems to have at least a decent jumper in scrimmage/practice and he is afraid to shoot.

I really just don’t get it
They must have promised not to foul him

What is it with the Sixers and drafting guys that are afraid to shoot? lol

the funny thing is he shot 40% from 3 his one year in college, on over 5 attempts per game

but he was a 65% ft shooter. Which is closer to his real talent level

I have to think it isn’t a coincidence and maybe somehow related to something the coaching staff/development team did with those guys early on.

Sad thing about the Ray thing is they are mad when he went to Miami as a FREE AGENT but forget that they were trying hard as heck to send him to Memphis in a trade

Why would he? They were just trying to trade him. There was no reason for him to call. He wasn't wanted there. Took his services to Miami, beat them in the playoffs, and won another title something KG and Pierce failed to do after 08. Long story short is they are mad at him for doing what was best for him but didn't have a problem when the organization was trying to do what's best for them and trade him for OJ Mayo. Hypocrite at its finest
