The ace-in-the-hole that the Lakers still believe they possess is the sign-and-trade of Dennis Schroeder. It seems the Lakers are not finding somebody in the league that will give this guy the $20 mil per season he wants. What is making things worse for the Lakers is that potential trading partners are dwindling rapidly and potential player returns that fit the needs for the Lakers are also declining. This may be a potential mess as the Lakers move to focus on retaining THT. Right now, the Kings are not interested in Schroeder-for-Hield sign-and-trade deal. Sooo..., the Lakers may be outside looking in with an ace-in-the-hole that is rapidly degrading to shit-in-the-hole.
