He still has a good BA against fastballs it's the slower stuff that he can't lay off of/gives him fits...

Usually as you get older you get more patient at the plate and look more for your pitch instead of trying to do something with just any ole pitch (I know I was). If they can get him to be a bit more selective/patient he'll end up having plenty of trade value, and may force them to keep him until a good younger RHed replacement rears it's head... He's not washed up yet at 33 he has a few years left in the body, Nelson Cruz is 8 yrs his senior and still going strong OPS of 1.503 so far...

Six games in is not enough to warrant a huge extension. I hope he will be able to turn the corner but he has lot of work to do imo. Wish him well because we need the kind of player he can be.

i think they will wait until we're closer to the trade deadline before they think about doing that hoping his trade value goes up

I think you are probably right. Our FO messes around to much and to long waiting on players to rebound. Odor and Gallo are perfect examples of players who had signs of greatness and then take a plunge and never recover. In a rebuild we can not afford to wait on players that have hung around waiting to develop just to trade them away. I hope we don't make the same mistake over and over as we did with Odor.

We saw it in motion Opening Day... it moves pretty damn fast. It was already halfway open when we noticed it, but based on what I saw, it couldn't take more than 10 minutes total.

No it doesn't, but they're going to have to get something done before next Spring if he does as well or better as he did in 2019, and do you want to do a long extension considering the pounding he will take playing OF

He is no where near a long extension. Like I said, wish him well but he has to earn it and he has yet to do that.
