It's really bizarre how no matter what the circumstances are you always defend the refs.

When I pointed out how lousy the refs have been all season long a few weeks ago you told me I get all my opinions by watching highlights on social media. And I still get a great laugh outta that. Truly the most incorrect and oddball thing I've ever seen you say.

Then after trying to tell you multiple times my opinions are based on watching live games you doubled down on your incorrect assumptions that my opinions are from social media.

Seriously what was the utter nonsense and why are you incapable of being critical about the refs when they miss/blow obvious calls game in and game out?

Do you really want to rehash that again?

I was addressing a comment you made about today’s refs being worse than refs from previous eras.

That isn’t true.

I don’t know where you get your opinions from, but my comment about social media is spot on as to why most people who think that way actually believe it.

30 years ago when I missed call happened, you would likely never see it again unless it took place at the very end of a close game.

Four entirely different players. Shaq and Embiid are entirely different from each other. Shaq couldn’t shoot fouls. Shaq couldn’t shoot threes. Embiid is more like the Dream than Shaq.
I can agree with that....but Harden probably more like Kyrie than Kobe.

Yeah, not going down that rabbit hole.

How many times do you need to have this conversation about something that happened 4 years ago?

Cleveland is doing good things. He happy with that.
Very happy about where we are. wasn't even calling you out. Just wondered what pick you were referring to as the Net pick was the only one I recall having that was worth anything.

Would be nice but it’s one thing for them to be playing better with a 3 game cushion. I expect that to change as it shrinks. Yes I know Presti is salivating over Holmgren no doubt.
just get in that "top" 5 is all you can really hope for. Both our teams have shown we can get screwed no matter where we finish. Luckily my team finally got some luck. Maybe yours will next time.

Plus they let Randle walk. Got that championship, but if I could keep that and still reverse the trade? I would reverse it in a heartbeat. Same with the Westbrook deal.

Oft injured AD and poor fit Westbrook

or

Garland, Ball, Ingram, Hart, Randle, KCP, Kuzma, Caruso, Thomas Bryant and picks (assuming Montrezl wasn't signed with Randle still on the roster)

Some of those guys would've moved on, given the extensions needed and potential cap issues, but what a different spot the Lakers would be in right now.
I do get that but as you said you know you get a title by making the deal you made.

Thinking more, I kind of like your chances last year and for sure the 2 after with all those guys (or most) still there and that Lebron fellow.

I guess it just doesn’t bother me much is all. There are plenty of things that do though lol.
Ohh it wasn't always like this for me I've been watching basketball for a long time and this isn't the same game. Every sport changes, it's expected but some games I feel like the refs don't know the rules. It's one of the frustrating part of the games but trust me, the players complain a lot more than me LOL

2 different things.

I thought Wiggy was referencing when I said they should have traded the Nets pick to try and lure LeBron to stay.

It was a different comment I had forgotten about before Garland was anywhere near this good.

And it was more conceptual in that usually when you draft good, not great players, and then start to pay them as they hit RFA your team is going to have a pretty clear ceiling.

Didn’t think Cleveland would be bad enough to draft #3 in 2021 or that they would be able to trade for another young player (Allen, maybe LeVert top?) who would become a difference maker.

So props to them.

Most teams in that spot end up with 40-45 win ceilings. Cleveland is clearly on track to be better than that.

I think it's fair to discuss missed calls. But I also see from an nba, NHL, MLB standpoint where it's such a long grind you gotta let some of it go.

Football is a different deal. Every game matters.
Very true. Missed calls stick out more in the NFL especially something like we saw in the Saints-Rams a couple years back.

Yeah but no guarantee they even take Garland. I mean even what CLE did made more sense, Sexton is short but he has SG playmaker ability. Ball is a more of a true PG. If at that point they think Ball is their future PG-they probably don't draft Garland unless they intend to move Ball (which they did anyway but for a star). I think Hunter, Culver or even Reddish is realistic but it also depends on who the FO loved.

One report says they loved Culver....who really knows but it did seem like Garland was right there in the mix too

Lakers ‘really liked’ what they saw from Jarrett Culver during draft workout

Cannot say I put much (or even anything) into rumors like that. Thinking they might not take Garland with Ball on roster? That could be true. OTOH, with Ball's size you could play both with Garland being a combo guard.

Guessing even most Cavs' fans thought 40 or so wins was our ceiling this season. No doubt emergence of Garland and Allen helped a ton but Mobley a game changer.

People who drive incredibly slow when lights turn green on the list?
Not as much as people that drive in the left hand lane, or the door to door salesman/crook that just rang my doorbell.

I have never liked it, and I think it is pretty clear that NBA officials do this. I especially hate that some stars seem to get to the free throw line easier than most players.

But the reality is that the NBA is entertainment. Fans are paying to watch the stars play, not sit on the bench in foul trouble.

So I get it.

Yeah, I've always mainly chalked it up to the refs being human. A big part of why superstars are superstars is their ability to do things that other players can't. Like the rest of us, they see some guy do something incredible and can't believe what they saw.

But yeah, ''star treatment'' sucks, but as you say, the refs also know who folks are paying to see.

Also, if we're all being honest, with few exceptions, we really don't complain about star treatment unless it's the other teams star that is receiving it. lol

I always liked the late, great Chick Hearns suggestion. He thought the NBA should get rid of fouling out of a game. His solution was that once a player commits his 6th foul, every foul after that is 2 shots and the ball for the opposing team. Keeps the star in the game, but still has consequences for going over the foul limit.

the slow drivers in the left lane can definitely be annoying, but often could go around if need be in right lane. Those slow drivers at green lights there's usually no way around.

Yes.....no patience.

Show me where I mentioned you.

Now who's lying?

You singled out one of my comments from today without mentioning anyone else.

Comment # 18,339 I asked this- constantly huh?

**Your response, comment # 18,349- "yes" to me asking you if I mention the refs all the time.**

I haven't lied about anything.

It is entertainment but I value fair play. It's not WWE. The outcomes should be merit based.

Yeah, as @Stakesarehigh said, every game matters, so calls matter more. Also, a lot of those calls, at least the more egregious ones, occur in situations where 2 players are isolated and the camera is on them, like with pass interference.

I really think Keegan Murray is the real deal.

I'd take him over Banchero
