Ha! My guy called me a clown and it isn’t even 9 am yetY'all on fire this AM!!!
It was a great podcast.Haha! My man! We listened to the same pod. I’m not talking shit right?
Morey - I said all along this should have been a three team deal with Nets Houston and us a year ago. But now James is where he wanted to be.
Also….I’m coming to realize that Morey likely didn’t have the leverage I thought he did in the Harden/Simmons deal. I just assessed it from the standpoint of Harden was going scorched earth and he had to get out. If it gets done in the summer with a Harris salary dump and Harden FA signing Morey would have been fucked on tampering. It sounds like he has been in conversation with Harden and his camp for a long time.
Kyrie is a fucking megalomaniac. The fucking moon bat telling the world we need to respect the opinion of people who think the vaccine is a push by Bill Gates to make them robots is not unprofessional but the dude who says fuck this and bolts is unprofessional.
I think what gets lost is that there does appear to be a bond between Morey and Harden.Kyrie is a fucking megalomaniac.
Don't blame him for wanting out of that shitshow.
But, I do wonder about his running through sidekicks and teams like he does the strippers at Magic City.
He and CP3 colluded in the Summer to get the Clippers to deal him.
Once he.realized Chris.screams like a banshee at his teammates, he wanted him gone.
Morey did not want to do the Westbrook.deal.
But, did so to keep his guy happy.
Honestly, maybe it's not about the sidekick.
Maybe the lessen here is he wants to play for his enabler and there is nobody that caters to him more than Darryl.
And truth be told, I embrace Philly as the villain. Makes sports more fun.It was a great podcast.
I love listening to Morey, especially at the Sloan Sports Analytic conferences.
I believe both teams thought they had leverage over the other.
In the end, I believe they were both wrong.
Nets didn't pry away young talent.
Sixers didn't get Harden for nothing.
In a way, I believe both teams got what they wanted out of the deal.
But, I think we can all agree that the Nets did not get back what they gave up when they acquired Harden from HOU.
But, they did get back something.
So, they didn't lose him for nothing.
Also, a lot of the hate on Harden is just anti-Process, anti-Philly jabs that goes with the territory.
He and Morey do have a weird kind of close vibe. Kind of odd to see with a player and front office guy.Kyrie is a fucking megalomaniac.
Don't blame him for wanting out of that shitshow.

My favorite stat line last night:I think what gets lost is that there does appear to be a bond between Morey and Harden.
And if anyone knows how to get the best out of Harden, it would be Morey.
Despite the presence of Doc Rivers......
Must have triggered him....Ha! My guy called me a clown and it isn’t even 9 am yet
No.He asked for A Trade which became the CP3 trade because that’s all they could make work. And then it actually worked despite having two guys who were ball dominant. CP3 isn’t for everybody and him railing on Harden about his man boobs (still funny to me) made personal shit bigger than basketball shit. CP3 works in Pho because who is not gonna defer to him on that roster? Same in OKC that one year. But each pairing after CP3 got worse and worse.
I’ll defer to you. I wasn’t following this situation closely at that time.No.
He asked for Paul, specifically.
He asked for Paul to be dealt for Westbrook, specifically.
Agree.I think what gets lost is that there does appear to be a bond between Morey and Harden.
And if anyone knows how to get the best out of Harden, it would be Morey.
Despite the presence of Doc Rivers......
@SJ76 is your squad ever going to beat a good team?
I’m sure he will bring up the MJ Bulls. Wait for it
The dedication!!!
Slightly off-screen : The Delilah's girls just past the top of the stairs....
Yeah, that was a half decade ago.I’ll defer to you. I wasn’t following this situation closely at that time.
IMO Russell wasn't half the player KD has been. Garnett-Barkley is a tough one honestly but on my list of PF's I have Garnett ahead of Barkley I believeI've stated, repeatedly, that I am tuuuuuuuuuurible at comparing players from different eras.
I know Russell is the greatest winner in NBA history.
But, was he a better player than Durant?
More accomplished team accolades doesn't equate to being the better player.
Was Garnett better than Barkley?
That's a really hard one for me.
NBA draft: The best players ever at each position
We have decided to undertake a huge task, and that’s to select the best players at every draft position in NBA history. Some of them were somewhat clear-cut, but for the most part, just about…hoopshype.com
Like I have said before, Harden campaigned for CP3 and when it didn't work he recruited RW. That was all him, it's too bad he gave up so soon on CP3, obviously the guy had a lot left and they very well could have won a championship, almost did if not for the CP3 injury. Houston did everything they could to cater around HardenYeah, that was a half decade ago.
I only remember because my team was involved.
Here's a snippet of how both trades came to fruition.
How they landed CP3
Harden, who finished as a runner-up for the NBA’s MVP award for the second time in three seasons, campaigned for Paul to join him in Houston. In turn, Paul could have entered the free agent market and talk to multiple teams when he became a free agent on July 1, perhaps joining the San Antonio Spurs, who could use a point guard. By opting into his deal for next season and facilitating this trade, Paul made it clear he wanted to play for the Rockets – and, specifically, wanted to play with Harden.
Paul and Harden discussed the possibility of a partnership at length, believing they can find a way to thrive together, league sources said.
Morey on the Westbrook deal....
"Yeah, a lot of teamwork. I mean, with James at a high (communication) level, and obviously he felt like (Westbrook) could be a good fit here. He was curious if there was a way to do it where we could keep everyone and not have to give up anything (laughs). Unfortunately the math of the deal required Chris going out, unfortunately.”
Instead, Morey and Presti collaborated on their second blockbuster together, reuniting Westbrook and Harden nearly seven years after the trade that sent Harden to Houston. “At one point, James asked me, ‘Why is it taking so long?’” Morey said. “I told him, ‘Dude, your trade took me five months.’”
