So that is how it went down then. They offered him a contract and then turned around and traded him. I don’t think Harden regrets that at all. Going to Houston is what has made him a Hall of Famer.

I want to thank every fan and every city that has shit on James Harden to this point. Pressure creates diamonds and now my squad gets a Harden that is dialed in committed to going for a ring. Great add and there couldn’t have been a better fit in the end to help Joel Embiid go next level.
I’m a huge Embiid fan. If Philly wins it will be because of him.

Might still be in the honeymoon phase.
I definitely like what I'm seeing.

Sixers fans are somewhere between :

"This is the best chance we have of winning a championship"

and

"We may never lose another game when Harden/Embiid are on the floor together...."

Two teams quit on him. Harden’s a bad teammate because Flat Earth is bat shit crazy and fucked their season with bull shit. Sounds a lot like the “it’s the Sixers fault” hot take because of what Doc and Embiid said, not because Ben Simmons is a pussy.

Bwahahaha! Who does that benefit? He was sold a bill of goods that the Nets were serious about going for a ring. They clearly aren’t.

How exactly did houston quit on him? Now you're talking nonsense. They brought in the point god and he still couldn't make that work because he is a ball hog. Brought in his close friend after that and didn't work either. Houston constantly bended over backwards for him. Saying Houston quit on him is one of the stupidest thing anyone can say

I still don’t think they’re the best in the East until they prove it. But this is the best chance they have to compete for a title. If not for the Harden trade we would all be Nuggets fans right now. There’s nothing else to really root for because you know your team can’t win shit so you are all in on an MVP race because there’s nothing else to invest in or root for.

They dealt Westbrook to the Wizards and Wall can’t play. It was dead. Time to move on. Let’s talk about your Nets. They lied to him. They weren’t looking to win rings. At the same time, I will allow for some caveat emptor shit Harden should have seen coming. Kyrie Irving will spend some time in the nuthouse before he dies one day. Everybody can see that dude is crazy. Maybe you can say it was hard to project that crazy would go in this direction of not playing but crazy by its nature is unpredictable.

Heard a Harden story and wanted to get your take if it’s revisionist history. I heard that OKC offered him a new contract and in the period of time he was mulling over the offer and whether to sign it, OKC traded him to Houston. True or false on that?

I lived in Dallas when this happened and remember the whole saga. OKC had a tough choice to make at the time. Harden was their sixth man, and they also had to decide on Serge Ibaka, who was a very promising big at the time, and seemed more important to their future. They prioritized Ibaka over Harden, and offered Harden less than the max. He was unhappy. It was ultimately all about the money for both sides. I think obviously OKC made the wrong choice on which player to prioritize in hindsight, but it was a tougher choice at the time than it sounds today.

Iied to him how? When acquiring harden last year, they were able to see into the future and knew kyrie wouldn't get vaccinated?

And then he said he wanted to go to the Nets and then quit on them.

And don't get me started on his unprofessionalism that he got away with in houston and continued in Brooklyn as well. Leaving a game in the middle of it and flying to the Vegas is as unprofessional as you can get. Great teammates though lol

Apparently the Sixers were his first choice then and the Rockets refused to deal with Morey. Houston could have had Simmons Maxey Thybulle and 3-4 first round picks. Now Houston has Jack squat.
