You are missing the point. For a lower seed, winning a round is making noise. Not every team in the playoffs is title or bust. Most 6-8 seeds would consider getting the 2nd round as making noise. The top 2-3 seeds would not
My bad. I didn't know we were grading on a curve.

So all 20 teams that will make the playoffs is now title or bust? Got it
What do you want from me? We were talking about Jokic for MVP right? He’s leading an also ran. That’s what my comment was about. He stuffed some stats beating a team that’s 10 games under .500 in OT.

Would like you to admit Jokic is the MVP

I'm not sure it is called stat stuffing when you fight out a win in OT against a hot team. New Orleans is playing some good bball right now, shit record or not

I've been on the Embiid train all year but the acquisition of Harden could win Jokic the MVP again. They could still give it to him if the 76ers keep winning but keep in mind...Denver is a 1.5 behind Philly without 2 of their 3 top players and Jokic is putting up insane numbers.

26 ppg 14 rpg 8 apg 1.5 spg
Shooting 57% from the field. 36% from 3. His eFG% is 62% which is insane.
ORTG 125
DRTG 104 - best of his career

All while having no Murray the entire season and MPJ only playing 9 games.

I am. You get 5 more minutes of run because it took OT to take down Ingram CJ and 10 pieces of meh.

Lots of grading on a curve here.

"Jokic is better than Embiid because Murray and MPJ are hurt and James Harden is really good."

I think the minds are already made up on Embiid and it would take a lot more than him having scoring help to rip it from him.

Also, I’d personally vote Morant before Jokic.

You've said in the past stats are for JV bench players, or something like that. But in a close MVP race those head to head numbers than you say mean nothing will mean everything.

ppg- Embiid (29.5) / Jokic (25.8)

Make sure to pay attention to the rest of the head to head numbers as Jokic has the lead in just about all of them.

rebs- Jokic (13.8) / Embiid (11.2)

asts- Jokic (8.0) / Embiid (4.4)

FG%- Jokic (.571) / Embiid (.490)

3-pt. %- Jokic (.363) / Embiid (.351)

stls.- Jokic (1.4) / Embiid (1.1)

blks- Embiid (1.4) / Jokic (0.8)

And don't bother knocking Jokic on the defensive end as this season he's playing the best D of his career. And here are some more head to head numbers. All the stats are from b-ball-ref.com.

reb's per game- Jokic is 2nd / Embiid is 7th

player efficiency rating- Jokis is # 1 / Embiid is # 3

wins share- Jokic is # 1 / Embiid is # 3

offensive win share- Jokis is # 1 / Embiid is # 5

defensive win share- Jokic is # 2 /Embiid isn't in the top 5

win share per 48 minutes- Jokic is # 1 / Embiid is # 4

box plus/minus- Jokic is # 1 / Embiid is # 3

offensive box plus/minus- Jokic is # 1 / Embiid is # 3

defensive box plus/minus- Jokic is # 1 / Embiid isn't in the top 5

value over replacement player- Jokic is # 1 / Embiid is # 3

*****defensive rating- Jokic is # 4 / Embiid isn't in the top 5 (you keep saying Jokic is lousy on D yet he has a better defensive rating)

DNR - In fact, I saw the alert come up on my phone and who posted it and I knew right away this post would be an analytics/stats based argument.

First Center to lead the NBA in scoring since Shaq in 1999-2000.

How many C's have averaged 25+/13+/8 for a season?

And who has more double-doubles & trip-dubs this season? Jokic leads the league in double-doubles (51). Embiid has 31. Jokic leads the league in trip-dubs (17). Embiid has 2. All numbers from nba-.com.

Back injuries are bad.....even if Green comes back.....the Warriors still might be done.

No guarantee when he comes back.....he's 100 percent.
