While getting Harden should help Embiid, does it sort of weaken his MVP argument if Harden puts them over the top? Durant is going to have a hard time given the games missed (usually the knock on Embiid) and the hole his team is in. Jokic is still a strong contender.
Not really. Embiid is scoring more than Harden and a true #1.

Harden seems to be embracing the role of #2.

Missing 22 games per season mean he's only playing in 73% of the games. That's nothing to brag about.

If he wasn't a Laker right now you'd call him glass too.

And KD. Let's see here. He's a multiple time champ & former MVP. How many MVP's has AD won? Also KD got the Finals with the Thunder. Before AD joined the Lakers how many playoff series did he win in New Orleans, one or two?

Mentioning he's injury prone isn't hating. It's telling the truth about his career.

Let's not pretend that Durant is angelic here though. He's the ultimate "if you can't beat them, join them" guy.

Understood, but not exactly my point. If Harden's addition spikes Embiid's performance and chances, that speaks more to Harden's value than Embiid's. Embiid's numbers were great before though; I just think Harden's addition could cloud the discussion a bit.

True. But that has nothing to do with how injury prone AD is.

I want this game so bad for many, many reasons!!

You ain't kidding.

And I still think it's funny that Kruzawooooski tried to make this season all about him by announcing before the season this would be his last one.

When's the last time a coach did something like that?

Nobody cares as much about Shisheffskee as Shisheffskee does

If Embiid plays all or nearly all the remaining games and the team continues to play well, he will win MVP.

He was leading the league in scoring before Harden showed up. And he's more likely to INCREASE his scoring than decrease it with Harden on the team.

Jokic has a legitimate case for MVP. But the fact that he won it last year and his table is likely to be a 5-8 seed will really hurt his chances.

If the Sixers flop this weekend then maybe that changes things. But there is a reason why he is -120 to win MVP right now.

Just like I never said AD was better? LOL.

What you laughing about? I never claimed you said AD was better than KD. My response to you was due to you saying- the Laker hate is real.

No it's not. It simply isn't hating by mentioning AD's history of injuries.

It's entertaining. People call AD glass but he averages 60 games a season.

About the same as KD (920 games in 15 seasons) but you don't hear people calling him injury prone or glass.....

The Laker hate is real. <---

It actually is when KD plays about the same amount of games but he's rarely criticized for being injury prone.

You started listing KD's personal accolades when I never disputed his greatness, just that he is in fact also injury prone.

Of course not. AD has at least avoided major injury, but his tendency to hit the floor so much has resulted in a lot of dings.

Embiid is my favorite as well right now, just thinking out loud about Harden's potential impact on how voters could view the situation.

There's always that potential Embiid injury lurking, but so far so good this season.

You mentioned KD first. Did you forget that fact? KD's playing resume is complete, he's won just about everything. But that can't be said about AD.

Like I originally said if AD played for any other team in the league you wouldn't have an issue with what I said.

Avoiding major injury is always a good thing. But all I'm saying is he's injury prone. Go ahead and disagree if you'd like. Already got one Lakers fan in this thread that has an issue with what I've said about him.

It's not like I'm talking shit about him or anything. If I was then by all means blast me for it. But mentioning nagging injuries have been a part of his career isn't taking a shot at him.

Good for you Miami taking out the nets last night and takin the glory out of KD return..

Nets are the Lakers of last year…

Star players keep milkin the system by takin way too much time off, thinking they can return and all will be well .

Miami , take the east you deserve it .
