Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was just the last nail in the coffin.

Jerry had his issues with Phil Jackson.

Some of it could be chalked up to ego or envy.

But, some of it is based on a lack of respect on the Lakers and Jackson's part as well.

If Dr. Buss said he had tickets for life, it should have been honored.

PERIOD.

The fact that they took the gutless, petty way out by sending his wife a text message instead of being men and women and having a conversation just exasperated the situation.

Like I said, if it were up to me and I felt strongly that he shouldn't have the tickets, I would call him and basically tell him that as soon as he is retired...they're his.

But ultimately, it's not the decision I would have made, I doubt he used them much anyway. I can't even remember the last time he was shown to be at Staples Center.

My only point is that he's not as blameless as he tries to come across. Definitely agree that there was too much ego/envy and that likely led to a lot of this. Things tend not to go well when ego's get involved.

The Lakers are petty as hell.

So, if the late Steve Jobs was discarded by apple, he should be literally and figuratively dead to them if he took a job at Samsung?

:pound:

Doesn't matter that he grew the company to heights unimaginable.

History means nothing, it's what have you done for me lately?

This is some Ray Allen shit.

Celtics benched him, tried to trade him several times.

But, he's a traitor for going to the Heat.

Lmfao
Total BS, I was genuinely pissed off when I heard about that.

Jerry rolling over in his grave.

Saw that. Literally one of the dumbest things I have seen. Based on what I heard this morning...he could be in the building and watch the game (would have to be masked), but couldn't play in the game. lol

Horrible. Rule is silly

That's how it works in sports.

lol

Not exactly.

The Celtics weren't going to be all warm and welcoming when he was helping the Heat beat them. Therw was no problem with how they treated him while he was in Miami. The problem was that they continuedto treat him like that after he retired.

West isn't retired and he's working directly to help an opponent.

And as I've said, we have 1 side of the story.

Telling Lebron "We're not giving up any more of the future, you made the mess, you get to deal with it" was a total Dr. Buss move.

What future though?

They have the present, the immediate future with LeBron, and then they are looking at a full restart.

If they don't take on any contracts that extend beyond the ones they have now, they'll have around $100 million coming off the books for 2023 and their 2027 pick can be kept and either used or sent to another team as part of a trade. Preferably one that doesn't get them John Wal. lol
