They aren't trading him.

But, who has a NTC?

Not Lebron.

While fans can’t see it now, the Lakers may have played their cards right by not giving LeBron James a No-Trade Clause (NTC). There’s no need for them to end up like the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony. If James was five years younger than maybe attaching a NTC would have made sense but even he has to know his career is coming to a close.

Agree re: not giving Lebron an NTC. It's part of why Lebron isn't dealing from a position of strength. The Lakers can basically do what they want with him and trade him to whoever they want. His only real bargaining chip would be to retire if they try to send him somewhere he doesn't want to go.

And yeah, he knows his career is just about done. That's why he's talking about playing his last year with Bronny. But even at that, Bronny is at least 2 years away from the NBA and that's assuming he improves enough to be a one and doner is college, which doesn't look likely right now.

So LeBron doesn't have a no trade clause?

I'm temporarily pickin' up his slack. He's busy right now studying for an exam at some bar.

A little more on this Lakers/Lebron stuff:

Apparently, Ramona Shelburne is friends with Jeanie Buss. Ramona Shelburne said that the Lakers "from ownership on down" has told Klutch, Lebron, AD and Westbrook "this is your mess, this is the roster you wanted, you make it work".

Yet you without a doubt had an issue when I mentioned him. Instead of thinking it was kinda shot at your Rams next time figure out what I really meant. I bet you have no idea why I mentioned him do you?

I couldn't care less, as it doesn't affect the one team of his I care about.

Wasn't treating it as a shot, more of an opportunity to brag up my Rams lol.

As a fan, If LeBron was able to come back to Cleveland… Would you welcome him back and trade a 1st rd pick for his son so he’d retire a Cavalier?
I wouldn't hate it if he came back without us giving up anything to get him (so after next season). But, like Garland, my vote would be no.

Depends on what they give up for Lebron and the 1st round pick is all speculation…we have no idea if his son will even be in the league or how good he can be. I mean he could ball out and be a top 15 pick or a g-league scrub.
Think the real question is what if he's a college scrub as a freshman? Does he still enter the draft (and does daddy force his hand)?

Does he look like a NBA player to you?

I don't see it.

Only way that kid goes in the first round is if a team wants to cash in on the LeBron retirement tour.
I can only go by what I've heard as I have seen only the stats and not one second of the kid actually playing.

I will say it will be fascinating to see this play out with so many moving parts.

Sure, the pick doesn’t mean much bc it’s an unknown but giving up assets for Lebron is the major issue. If he came to CLE in FA and lowered his asking price that is one thing but giving up players and picks is tough
any chance we can have a nationally covered phone call where Lebron calls one team and says he wants to go there? He chooses the cavs and Gilbert tells him to take his talents elsewhere?

very torn

totally depends on what it would cost to get him. Absolutely do not want to blow the team up for him- and I like that the Cavs are developing their own legacy.

I dont think it would be realistic if he wants the max- and supposedly he wants the max- so I guess my answer is no.
I could deal with player Lebron, maybe, but bad GM and drama queen Lebron no thanks.

Yeah.

I watched 3 games, the last being a week ago when they were eliminated by Westlake.

It didn't go well.

@ChrisperJ10 and @trojanfan12 make a good poimt.

He has time.

My guy Jason Preston is the exception, not the rule. But, he went from scoring 2ppg as a Senior in High School to being a Tournament darling and a early 2nd round pick.

It can happen.
