I can agree should not be exclusively on stats but yours seems to lean exclusively on the eye test of a biased fan looking to ignore any stat that does not favor his opinion.
No it doesn’t.

this is great. Jefferson and Channing Frye were such great vets to have.
I heard this live and was so funny.

When he was here I was just hoping he could one day take AC's job as our analyst. He's clearly going to go much further than that (and has).

Not sure anyone said they were end all be all. I would say they mean more than eye test of a fan with an agenda (not saying you are the only one with the agenda).

FYI, I'd likely lean giving MVP to Embiid as of now.
Yep. You just got here. This is an ongoing conversation I’ve had with Wamu over two seasons and he exclusively posts stats to back his support. Know why? Because the game of basketball is played at both ends and that’s where the Jokic/Embiid comparison ends.

I've said to @fightinfunbags that in a close MVP race head to head stats will mean something. But he disagrees. He said something like- stats are for JV bench warmers. His eye test is more accurate.

Stats aren't the end all be all. But the head to head numbers of Jokic & Embiid will be a deciding factor as to who wins MVP.

Because sports writers who over value offense will make that call.

I'm mostly just trolling Wiggy, because that's what we do here and he deserves it. I don't actually have any "issues" with the city. But don't pretend you don't know Cleveland's rep. The troll wouldn't land if I was going after Miami or LA or New York or whatever.
Fair point and no doubt the downtown area not as nice as some of the larger cities...weather doesn't help either.

Been in the suburbs of many cities (LA, Chicago, NY, Phoenix, etc) and so far other than weather none were any nicer than here.

And over two years every post you’ve had to me on this topic has been entirely stat based. You have completely ignored the aspect of two way basketball in this comparison.

That's what I kinda thought you were doing but just wanted to make sure. As far as your question. No you're not the only one. Hell I've made fun of Cleveland.
guilty...usually weather based.

He's right

thought nothing of his outfit when I saw him and saw a number of comments this morning about it (just general that he got grief for it).

What was said and by whom?

Did like his retort.

Last season you said Embiid should have been MVP. Even though he missed alotta games while Jokic played all 72, led the league in double-doubles & was 2nd in trip-dubs.

And this season. Yes Embiid averages more points & blocks. But Jokic averages more rebs, asts, stls, has a better FG % and a better 3-pt. %.

I posted all those legit numbers for this season the other day. Jokic leads Embiid in just about all of them. But you, for a second season a row, choose to ignore what the numbers say.

In a close MVP race like this season everything I mentioned in comment # 14,743 will be taken into consideration.

Eh, not everyone going to be down with that sideshow
Nah....but a team going nowhere might. Hell, if we didn't improve so much I'd be down with starting the plan for how to make that happen.

I really do not see it happening.

He is not a free agent till after next year. Clearing 40+ million in cap space seems highly highly unlikely.

Love, Cedi, Sexton, Markkanen would all have to go at the least

is it POSSIBLE with Garland, Allen, Mobley, Okoro, LeVert? Maybe. I'd have to dive into the numbers to really see. It would depend on the timing of Garland's extension as well.
thinking by that time Garland and Allen alone will be at $55 mil or so alone. He'd need to accept the ML to come back as a FA...and my guess is Gilbert would want no part of him, but who knows?

I liked the idea of having a team of rookies and a team from the city of the game. The other team just didn’t make any sense at all though.
If they really wanted a brother team, the Barrys might have been a better option.
