I liked the idea of having a team of rookies and a team from the city of the game. The other team just didn’t make any sense at all though.

Home team?

Yeah, I agree. Still want a better 3rd wheel than Jarrett Allen, but I like the home team angle.

Rookies?

Nah.

They literally weren’t trying. Jogged through everything and were still probably the strongest team overall.

2nd in shooting, tied 1st in passing, 1st in skill relay, 9.9 seconds from half court.

I want to see a better product.

I liked the teams format of the skills challenge because it brought some strategy into the mix. The dunk contest brought the whole night down. By the time that ended, I don't think there was much of the crowd left. lol

Might need to change that to something else if they can't get actual stars instead of guys trying to make a name for themselves.

One word sums up the dunk contest.

You won’t ever get it I don’t think, the 3 pt contest is the only thing with an ounce of competiveness and that’s because it’s easy.

Based on what I’ve seen this morning, I’m glad I didn’t watch any of it.

Other than the dunk contest, it wasn't as bad as it has been made to sound, imo. I liked some of the stuff they added. Making the skills challenge a team competition and adding a couple of additional barriers was interesting...but as @tlance pointed out, they needed players who were more skilled than most of the ones participating.

Take out that terrible dunk contest and last night would have been okay.

Just “okay” is about all any sport gets from any all star game anymore

I always like the 3 point shootout & I liked the skills competition.

But now my concern is the game today will be yet another glorified scrimmage with the scoring being something like 172-165.

Not worth being concerned about, we already know that will be the case.

Jokic has more help? You gotta explain. The Nuggets 2nd best player J. Murray hasn't played a game all season. And their 3rd best player MPJ has only played about 10 games. How does Jokic have more help this season?
glad someone asked.

Stats are for people who play JV soccer as a senior in high school and can’t digest what they’re looking at. Both players are exceptional offensive players. Jokic has worked very hard to become an average defender. Embiid is one of the best rim protectors in the game and arguably the best two way player on the planet right now with KD.
Ignoring stats are for people who cannot be helped by the stats and use eye test which cannot really be measured.

I’m not ignoring stats. I’m saying they aren’t the end all be all.

Let’s be fair. Is that what I said? Nope. I’m pushing back on arguments that are purely based on stats. Doesn’t that apply to every post of yours on this topic? It all leans exclusively on stats.
I can agree should not be exclusively on stats but yours seems to lean exclusively on the eye test of a biased fan looking to ignore any stat that does not favor his opinion.

Not sure anyone said they were end all be all. I would say they mean more than eye test of a fan with an agenda (not saying you are the only one with the agenda).

FYI, I'd likely lean giving MVP to Embiid as of now.
