After watching the Sixers win their last two since the trade, I am feeling good about what they gave up and what they kept. Paul Reed is looking intriguing as the new backup center. He has very high energy and looks like a good rotational big. They miss Curry's shooting but hopefully Harden will give them a new offensive dimension as soon as Tuesday. Keeping Maxey and Thybulle has HUGE. Those kids look like they are going to be key role players for years to come.

Maybe.....it was just odd he attempted twice as many shots as AD and RW. Had 1 more than those 2 combined.

On the season, he averages 21 shots.

AD 17.4 and RW 16.

But again, how many of those (besides free throws lol) were shots that he normally hits? Like I said, he definitely needed to be more "self aware" and realize his shot was off, but it's not like he was just throwing a bunch of shots up and hoping something goes in. In short, I didn't see him operating outside the parameters of the offense to get his shots.

Also, don't forget that the Warriors are one of the best defensive teams in the league. So they likely realized Lebron was struggling from the field and adjusted their defense to make it more difficult for him to get the ball to AD and/or Russ.

Man the east is wild. Check out the standings. So many teams vying for the top seeds. It's going to be a frantic second half.

Said earlier this season he's their best player and @tlance said nope.

There you go again.

I said he wasn’t a top MVP candidate because LaVine was just as good. And that was in response to poster who had him at #2 behind KD.

Since, DeRozan has stepped up to another level.

Still not a top MVP candidate.

I think so too.

So many variables with them.

Kyrie vaccination, KD health, and then Simmons. Whether or not he can play effectively and whether he accepts his role (which in theory is perfect for him).

I think they are playing full time by the playoffs? But lots can go wrong there.
It will be interesting to me to see how Nash tries to utilize Simmons in the half court in the playoffs. No matter what the Sixers did, with Simmons on the floor offensively it was like playing 4 on 5.

DeRozan deserves some MVP consideration even though Embiid is the man.
If you mean mentioning his name and then saying , but Embiid, yes.

True.

But, he won't need to shoot, that's for sure. The Nets are loaded with shooters.

Down the stretch.

Be funny if they sat Simmons in close games down the stretch and he melted down.

Agree. But come playoff time, he won’t be covered by the defense. His man will be the roamer that will double the basketball.

Well if they use kyrie on the pg and keep simmons close to the rim then you can't do that. It ks what i would do in the clutch time moments

I disagree. You can rotate to the dunker if the man you play on Simmons is your big. Simmons positioning allows for a team to have perpetual rim protection and play up on the shooters.

Both what you and BKS said can be done at times.
