Kuz with a triple double last night.

To this point in he career, he has been a stat producer on bad teams and an average ish role player on good ones.

It seems he has gotten better over the past year, but I need to see him perform well when he isn’t the 1st or second option.

To this point, that has been his best basketball. And a team with Kuz as a top option is going exactly nowhere.

Monty Williams is coach of the year

Lots of good cases to be made (Miami, Memphis, & Cleveland) but if the suns win 65ish games as it look like they will then yeah it should go to Monty

What i will say is i find it funny how spo never won the award. He had a 66 win team that went on the 2nd longest win streak in nba history and didn't win COY that year......how?

I’m really happy he is doing so well. He was an assistant with the Thunder when his wife was killed in a car wreck, leaving him with 4 fairly young kids. He is a very good dude.

That doesn’t make much sense to me. Sports is adversity and champions respond to adversity. Embiid and Harden are pretty good at sports. Having versatility and multiplicity gives a team better options to handle adversity.

Lots of guys are pretty good at sports and aren't champions. How many combined titles do Harden and Embiid have?

What is meant by adversity is late in a close, must win game...do they still share the ball and run the offense? Or does, Harden start looking for his iso's and stand at the top of the key dribbling for 18 seconds trying to set up his own shot as he's done his entire career?

Gonna be hard not to give it to him with mid 60 wins but if Memphis wins in the high 50's or Cleveland gets in low 50's or gets a top seed they are also in contention. I guess they will have to value what is more impressive.

What if Miami finish 57-25?

It’s because of the way people have treated the coach of the year award in sports. Sometimes it goes to the coach of the best team and other times it’s based on perception. If you take that which others perceive to be ass and you turn it into average or above average there is a tendency to value or even overvalue that stuff. To me the coach of the year is always the coach who hoists the trophy. Isn’t that the point of all of this?

An absolute freak. They started doubling him after the 1st. He made that 51 look easy against a really good defensive team

He said after the game “they weren’t doubling me so I figured I needed to attack”. A couple of missed FT’s from 30 in the 1st Q and eclipsing Dirk’s record in the McGrady game. He’s just fun as hell to watch as a Mavs fan.

And to think that the Lakers organization traded him away for throw-up-a-brick Westbrook. The Lakers could have saved themselves a boatload of cash and had a potentially developing star they so desperately want to have all the time to go along with an aging James and can't-stay-healthy AD..

Definitely in the running. If it's between a 50-52 win Cavs team and 57 win Miami team...it should go to CLE. Not being a homer but 26 projected wins to 52 would be double and just something we haven't seen in a very long time. Even if that happens it will depend on Memphis and Phoenix. I mean if PHX wins 65 or 66....Monty likely gets it

Yeah but nothing they could do anyway in the 1st, he was draining 3's. He was just on. Yeah, 3 missed FT's and he 2 3's that went in and out. I don't think he could have challenged the 37 by Klay but maybe the 34 by Love.

I've been to four games since I moved to Dallas a couple months ago. Definitely one of the most exciting players in the league. Hope they can pair another star next to him, Zinger didn't workout

He’s become a force. He looks and plays like he’d also be a decent TE in the NFL.
Jason Kidd has the Mavs rolling along nicely now. They’re only 1.5 games away from the 4 seed. Brunson has been solid too. Gonna be interesting to see how the KP for Dinwiddie trade plays out.

That's why if he gets by you he is basically unstoppable at the rim, you can't get around him. Wide body, big shoulders. He has underrated quickness

They have really bought into the defensive aspects of the game. Sean Sweeney deserves a ton of credit. I don’t know what he’s selling but the players are clearly buying it. Luka’s D is night and day improved from last season and he’s not alone. THAT’S the key to this thing that I see every game as a MFFL. Moving KP doesn’t help that but watching them without KP the last week, they will be fine.

Also… Reggie Bullock seems to have found his role here. And he’s found his range on those corner 3’s. He’s starting to become a problem for opponents.
