Only if Embiid gets hurt

Nah what jokic is doing without having without the 2nd and 3rd best player is ridiculous. They're a game out of 4th place.

This is a very tight race and seeding likely determines the award winner

Cavs are good- and taken major steps- but definitely have flaws.

if they had Sexton and Rubio- id feel a ton of better about them in the 2nd half. No one on the team but Garland, (and maybe Osman a little) can break down a defense on the entire team.

That is a problem. Schroeder would help a lot with the 2nd unit- and let Garland play off the ball a little bit (which he did very well with Rubio), but I certainly would not give up a 1st round pick for him- not even close.

Yep they lack playmakers, pretty amazing how they have succeeded to this point w/o Sexton and then Rubio going down but to make a run at a top 4 seed and winning a matchup in the playoffs they need another wing/playmaker. Honestly, I would open up two roster spots and see if they can get Schroder for a 2nd and the DPE. Then go out and try to acquire a wing for a 1st + Rubio. I know they were like $3M under the luxury tax so I'm not even sure if they could trade for both, they probably have to shed more $$

I think you could do the Schroeder deal.

Hollinger had a deal where i think it was Pangos and Davis (plus a 2) for Schroder and that keeps both teams out of the tax.

2 elite offensive players but one is an elite defender and the other isn’t. Jokic won last year because Embiid missed 20 games to injury. It wasn’t because Jokic was the better player or had a better season. It is what it is.

Jokic is also the reigning MVP. So if they are having roughly equal seasons, then Embiid is likely to win it.
And he’s a reigning MVP because Embiid missed too many games in the eyes of the voters.

I hear you but acting like this isn't a legit debate is wild to me. I don't even like Jokic but the disrespect towards him doesn't make sense

I'm pretty tired of hearing about Jokic is being disrespected all the time. He's the REIGNING MVP. He's 2nd in the league in odds to win the MVP again this year. Where is all this disrespect he's getting? Because some people think that 1 other player is better than him?

IMO, his actions towards Morris should automatically disqualify him for this year.

But seriously Embiid is not a slam dunk to win the award.

Jokic did have a better season last year, the numbers prove it. He played every game. Led the league in double-doubles. And was second in trip-dubs. And while Jokic isn't the defender Embiid is Embiid isn't the offensive facilitator Jokic is.

This season Embiid has a better scoring average (29.1 to 26.0) but Jokic averages more rebounds (13.7 to 10.8), more assists (7.8 to 4.4), more steals (1.4 to 0.9) and has a better FG% (.573 to .499). It's even on FT%, .811. And Embiid averages more blocks (1.4 to 0.8)

Jokic leads his team in pts, rebs, asts, stls, blks, FG%

Embiid leads his team in pts, rebs & blks

Stats are for people who can’t assess the game. There’s no comparison to these guys on the defensive end. They both dominate offensively in different ways.

Jokic also leads Embiid in cheap shots that caused months long injuries to players.

I honestly didn’t think Morris got enough of a punishment for what he did
