No but time does. So many examples of people who were considered edgy, controversial, corrupting influences when young turning into cuddly entertainers your mom likes later in life:

Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Barkley, Madonna, Mick Jagger....

Also, fire definitely gets you respect...Barkley was great on TV and that's how his image changed.
