He was a replacement level player his last year in LA.

Taking what people said about him last year in context of his new production in a new role is not fair at all.

His trade value was pretty low this past summer.

He may have had replacement level stats, but he clearly isn't a replacement level player. Key difference.

His trade value would've helped net either Russ or Hield, so not too low.

Yeah, basically the Lakers would have to find a team that wanted him bad enough to do a deal now and not risk losing him to another team in the off-season. I doubt there is such a team.

Or, if the Lakers find a player that another team has out of their rotation (or with a young player behind) that is signed beyond this season that they want to move.

Quick trigger is a red flag. You are having a huge impact on games by getting in your feelings. NBA refs and MLB umps shouldn't have this much power. They are ejecting players over garbage.
