Unless AD really change this team, it is hard to see them not in the play in game

AD isn't going to do much either. This is a genuine shit-show of an NBA team that has yet to play any consistent defense, night-in and night-out and when they don't wanna play, they eff-it, and just go through the motions or let James do everything. I have watched this team all season and they still do not exert much effort playing Vogel-type defense and teams that can run and shoot threes do so at-will and the Lakers just stand there and let them run-up the score.

Would be incredibly stupid to not pay that fine.

Unless for some reason they want the savings of not having to pay Kyrie his home salary?

Whatever it is, the fine isn’t going to factor into the decision.

they wont pay the fine. It would be a PR nightmare for them in so many ways.

Also- the NBA office would never let them. IT would open up a slippery slope for all players.

One of the many problems the Lakers have other than there lazy-ass efforts on defense is their cavalier attitude toward FT shooting. There is not a game goes by that somebody, if not nearly everyone repeatedly misses FTs. Howard does it routinely, Westbrook the same. Even James has nights where he only makes one of two FTs and this is a guy who has been in the league nearly 20 years. Reaves is one of the few guys who makes both of his FTs when he is there. He doesn't play that much but when he is in there, he usually makes both of his FTs. If there was thing that used to ire Kobe about Shaq and Howard is missing FTs. This team now does it routinely and they have not changed it significantly since the beginning of the season.

I’m surprised since they handed so much shooting to the team.

I thought they had a good offseason, but man it has not worked.

Exactly. Giannis and Middleton were up around the same time on Thursday when they were killing the Warriors.
